In my humble opinion Blair playing for another team would only help him. He showed flashes in limited playing time, and with how the 49ers have drafted the past few years it's increasingly​ unlikely Blair would get more run this year. There are plenty of teams in need of skilled DL, so maybe a change scenery could help him.

I stand corrected. Used to be 5 years. Now you must be on a roster for 3 years and eligible to play in 3 games in each of those years . Amounts vary. The longer you play the greater the pension. The average pension is $42,000 and not accessible until age 55.
