Armanti at Camp

"I told him he's going to get his chance. He's going to get more opportunities to showcase what he can do."

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – First-year wide receivers coach Ricky Proehl could easily have been talking about Ted Ginn when he made the above statement.

One problem: Ginn wasn't yet a Panther.

So exactly who was Proehl discussing?

None other than Armanti Edwards.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

That's what I like to hear! There are so many idiots on Carolina Huddle who want him cut.

everytime i see a tweet about Armanti showing out in camp, i just smile to myself knowing those guys over at the huddle are probably about to have a coronary because AE will more than likely make the team, and maybe actually have an impact this year

I believe Armanti is getting more first team reps in part because Steve Smith isn't playing. Haven't we seen that before, too? Go get 'em, AE!

Smith practiced today and AE ran with the first team.

From what I've read recently, it seems like a lot of 'em have finally situated themselves firmly into Stage 5: Acceptance. By all accounts AE is having a really good camp, and I'm hoping he gets a chance to shine in preseason.

Damn, is it fun keeping up with all the Apps out there in NFL. :D

No doubt the imbeciles that inhabit the huddle are posting jabs about him being a camp warrior/superstar. They conveniently forget he has made the most of his limited opportunities in game situations. They are unable to understand and don't deserve a player and person of Armanti's caliber.

As sad as it is to say, what these "huddlers" both understand and deserve is exactly what they got from Rae Carruth.

I take it you are unfamiliar with the "huddler" mentality. My advice is stay that way.

Every year AE does well in camp.
He is a camp warrior. Then barely gets on the field.

I want AE to succeed as much as any Appalachian alum. I really feel like based on everything I've read that he's gonna see the field this year at WR.

I really want him to make plays and shut the nut jobs on the Huddle up for good.

The huddle is actually coming around on Armanti. Even the owner of the website "zod" who was the biggest hater of all, is talking well about him.

Shannon Sharpe on the NFL network talked up Armanti. Said that the Panthers need a 3rd receiver to step up this year and have some production, believes Edwards could be that guy.

Props to Sharpe for even knowing who Armanti is. I quit watching all those sports talk shows on the big networks (I'm looking at you, ESPN) as all they would talk about are the big name players who play in big markets.

One thing that could greatly benefit AE this year is a new WR coach in Ricky Proehl. If he believes in Armanti and sees his progress and improvement and believes that he can get the job done, then AE will get the PT. I think Proehl working with Armanti will be huge

Here's the Sharpe video. Starts talking about AE around 3:35.
