They just need to create some new Eric Church intro promo’s based on this season.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 12, 2025 9:18 amThat might be but I do know that his nickname before he got to be a head coach was Billy Boy. Mathematically their season is not over but it does feel like it is over so it will be interesting to see if he does what you suggested.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sun Oct 12, 2025 8:06 amIf I am Lil Bill (thinking that his his code name by Jordan).
I start the freshman QB. Their season is basically over. Let that kid get the growing pains and play to get ready for next year.
This implosion so far is quite hilarious to me
The implosion is very funny. I thought he was a bad hire but it has been even worse than anyone could have expected.

Re: Drama at UNC with Bill- shocker
Anyone who thought BB was going to be anything other than what has happened so far was lying to themselves...What idiot thinks a crumudgeonly 73 year old whos NFL players have said they didn't like him, who couldn't win without the all time great QB, whos boss for 20 years forced him out and couldn't get a job elsewhere would arrive at UNC to ingratiate himself with the players and fans and be everything he wasn't in New England...
All of you who thought differently are idiots.
Every sportscaster with a mic, camera or pen who said it would work should be fired.
I will enjoy every minute of this fiasco and I hope it tarnishes BB reputation enough to stay out of Canton for a cycle or two.

Re: Drama at UNC with Bill- shocker
I think most folks outside of Chapel Hill thought it was a bad idea before they hired him.
Old coach that has plenty of money already, paid a fat salary, nothing really to prove at this point in his life, toting around some young chic. He ain’t hungry to prove anything. He can just take the money and try to keep his girlfriend happy enough to be satisfied.
How could that not work?

Re: Drama at UNC with Bill- shocker
Everything we see is through the Black and Gold lens of Appalachian. The fact that everyone seems to have given up on UNC-Ch this early in the season is hilarious. I really do believe we have the same NFL experience here in Boone that Chapel Hill has for a whole lot less money. The biggest difference is that our staff is built better with people that really do know what they are doing. Our coach has over four years of college experience that UNC's coach does not have. He has seen two very different college fan bases and now a third. That is important. I believe we made the better hire because we have someone that said he did not want just any job he wanted this job. You know I actually believe what he said is fact. He knows just how demanding this fan base is because we fired one of our own.
Maybe our coach believes that if he can make it at App, he can make it anywhere.

Not at all. Chapel Hill fans are jumping off the band wagon. I can guarantee many are not seeing this through a Black and Gold lens

His buy out is supposedly payable like NC unemployment-he has to actively “try” to get a job. And if he does, his buy out is reduced.kornegaylw wrote: ↑Sun Oct 12, 2025 4:52 pmLol we'll never see Franklin again...he and Jimbo are fishing and golfing from here on outBeauFoster wrote: ↑Sun Oct 12, 2025 4:24 pmJames Franklin the next head coach at UNC after being fired by Adidas Penn State?
You and me would be on the beach. But these high level coaches aren’t built like us. They believe they’re the best and are always trying to prove it. I’d bet he’s back on the sideline within 18 months

They could cut it in half and it would still be almost 25M. on top of what he's already made, that's park it and play money. Do whatever you want whenever you want.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Sun Oct 12, 2025 5:52 pmHis buy out is supposedly payable like NC unemployment-he has to actively “try” to get a job. Re: Drama at UNC with Bill- shocker
Amen! There are reasons that a man with 6 Super Bowls can't get a job in the NFL. All 32 NFL teams have had two hiring cycles and they passed on him. It is not out of jealousy either. The Giants are a team who had been rumored to want Bill at one time and they have now passed twice. Before anyone says it was his age you have to remember that Pete Carroll is same age range and he was hired.kornegaylw wrote: ↑Sun Oct 12, 2025 1:14 pmAnyone who thought BB was going to be anything other than what has happened so far was lying to themselves...What idiot thinks a crumudgeonly 73 year old whos NFL players have said they didn't like him, who couldn't win without the all time great QB, whos boss for 20 years forced him out and couldn't get a job elsewhere would arrive at UNC to ingratiate himself with the players and fans and be everything he wasn't in New England...
