Western having a good football season is good economic news for WNC west of Asheville. The area has businesses still struggling after Helene. Restaurants and hotels need their business on game weekends. After 10 years of separation between our FBS and their FCS it seems pretty outdated to consider them a threat.
I watched some of the UTC game and the view of the stands (was of maybe 2,000 people. That may have been the away side, I don't know but it was VERY thin.
The game you saw was WCU playing AT Chattanooga. Not at WCU.

It was at UTC. They sold out this past weekend in Cullowhee and I hope it had an economic impact.

I am aware of the logos on the field. UTC not drawing much.

WCU dropped another game to ETSU. Mercer won so the elusive SoCon conference title will have to wait until 2026 at the earliest.

Hopefully they can make the playoffs.

Very true. They had a rough OOC and now falling apart. Improving, which is good to see.

The QB missed the first three games which they lost. Probably would have gone 2-1 to start.

And I’m glad we don’t play them this year.

We would be competitive in the SoCon. Top five maybe.
