Well I should have said, Mack is a better salesman than he is a coach --- yes, he was the right hire for unc at this point because they were in the gutter - he instantly brought stature back to the program and used his salesmanship to attract a lot of talent and he is smart enough to bring in quality assistant coaches - I believe he was 2-20 in his first two years and pretty sure he was well under .500 after 5 years - (those records would probably get a coach fired in todays world) - he did not win an ACC championship during his time there and I believe during that time there were only 9 teams -
He was better at Texas with all the talent and he won the National Championship because at that time Vince Young played the best game I had ever seen a QB play (he was surpassed in my mind by Armanti against Richmond in the playoffs) -

I didn't mean to say he wasn't a good coach, I just feel his has always been overrated and I feel his team this year is just that - weren't they in the top 5 last season? -

The thing that irritated me was after we beat them 2 years ago all he could say was how his team had made mistakes and didn't play well ---------------------- same old shit from all carolina coaches -
App clearly beat their asses for 4/5 of that game - they scored in the first minute of the first quarter and with the last play of the 2nd - other than that they were dominated ---

UNC Bowl Game Opponents last 6 bowl games: Cincinnati, Rutgers, Baylor, Stanford, Temple, Texas A+M
ASU Bowl Game Opponents last 6 bowl games: Ohio, Toledo, Toledo, Middle Tennessee, UAB, North Texas

Pretty silly dissing on their football team's championships when Clemson, Florida State, Virginia Tech have won the championship 18 out of the last 20 years. Them receiving an Orange Bowl bid last year shows the teams progress. Mack Brown has them in the right direction. We'll see what happens when he leaves. Our bowl games against the above teams doesn't really shine as "tough" opposition as well as our conference opponents.

I couldn't believe the headline when I saw it on ESPN, I thought I had misread it. This is a school that is a perennial bottom dweller and underachiever in football. They have never won anything, but please tell us how they feel about a playoff expansion that they will never, ever sniff.

Mack, is that you? What UNC "championships" are we dissing"? How is it silly?

You completely miss the irony here. The point sails over your head. Not seeing the forest for the trees. Etc.

Their bowl games vs. our bowl games is completely irrelevant, but the resumes speak for themselves.

Remember, Mack's first college head coaching job was at our Alma mater. He went on to win a National Championship at Texas.
He brought in Sparky Woods who was a well loved coach at App.

UNC is the WV of the ACC, irrelevant in November.

well you have again showed your lack of knowledge - not surprisingly just to jab at me - WVU has won conference championships in football and TWICE has played for a chance of a National Championship - 1988 (11-0) Big East Champions - lost in Fiesta Bowl for the national championship to Notre Dame (declared national champions) and in 1993 (11-0) Big East Champions and lost to Florida in Sugar Bowl for national championship --- 2005 (11-1) beat Georgia in Sugar Bowl actually played in Atlanta - 2007 - (11-2) unfortunately lost to Pitt the last regular season game which knocked them out of the National Championship game but beat Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl ---

as always - you aren't as knowledgeable as you think you are

Haha. I thought we were just picking on mediocre programs and fanbases pretend they have a shot at winning conference titles.

WV has NO shot in the Big12 and will be irrelevant in 2021.

That is true - however if Neal Brown continues to attach better talent than the previous coaches they may have a chance in couple of years - everyone says he is an extremely hard worker and is establishing quality - he will be fine as long as he doesn't have to play the OTHER Mountaineers

That is your worst post in the history of this board and that’s quite the accomplishment.

True colors show through. WE aren’t the other any thing. We ARE Mountaineers!

Wrong again (it gets tiring saying this to you) - You see I was born and bred in the MOUNTAIN STATE where the State motto is "Montani Semper Liberi" - which I will explain to you means MOUNTAINEERS ARE ALWAYS FREE - You are born and bred a TARHELL from the TARHEEL STATE and thus didn't become a Mountaineer until you were 18 -
You lose again

So naive. I’m a second generation Mountaineer. Been going to games before I could walk.

In Kindergarten I wore black and gold to school.

I’ve NEVER put another school first.

NC > WV in every category including caliber of Mountaineers.

You’re like the chicken in a Mountaineer omelet, I’m the pig.

It appears the only true "mountain"eer graduates are the ones graduating from the great university in Boone. #AppStactuallyinthemountains

Don't know why we care. They just want to make sure they never have to play in one. I think it is their choice.

Nothing good comes from discussing anything tarheel related. Stop this right now!
