Louisville-Duke
Great game, but that had to be one of the nastiest injuries ever. Prayers go out to that poor kid from Louisville.

Re: Louisville-Duke
Louisville had way too much quickness, foot-speed, athleticism, and heart to lose that game. Their defense was one of the best I've seen in an long time; it was in Duke's face a lot like Nolan Richardson's "40 Minutes of Hell" that he used at Arkansas.
The injury to Ware was the worst I've ever seen in basketball. Godspeed to the young man for a full recovery.

When you saw the injury.....how many of you sang the kit kat jingle?? Don't be shy! Give me a break, give me a break... break me off a piece of that kit kat bar.

I can tell you that I wasn't singing. An injury like that ended my football playing days. And 25+ years later I still have problems come up that are directly related to the multiple compound fractures I suffered and the multiple surgeries that tried to repair the damage. All my thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Ware and I wish him as quick and painless a recovery as possible.ASUTodd wrote:When you saw the injury.....how many of you sang the kit kat jingle?? Yeah, and when a cop gets shot, I start to wrap Body Count lyrics.ASUTodd wrote:When you saw the injury.....how many of you sang the kit kat jingle?? Don't be shy! Give me a break, give me a break... break me off a piece of that kit kat bar.

Re: Louisville-Duke
I could see your attempt at humor but I honestly had no such thoughts at the moment. I immediately said, "Oh sh**! He just broke his leg!" and my wife screamed. She is not a sports nut like me and even she was moved to tears.
Black humor during these types of things is some folks way of easing the pain or trying to lighten the moment, but yesterday I was not one of those folks.

I doubt that if that had been your son you would have immediately thought that.ASUTodd wrote:When you saw the injury.....how many of you sang the kit kat jingle?? Don't be shy! Give me a break, give me a break... break me off a piece of that kit kat bar.

The worst I have seen was when the NC State hoodlums undercut Wade Capehart in Raleigh. His concussion caused him to miss the remainder of the season and his career was never the same again.

Re: Louisville-Duke
Wade may have had a concussion (don't remember) but what got him the medical redshirt was the collapsed lung. That pillar of sportsmanship Derrick Whittenberg was the undercutter.
