The photo was posted on Coastal's Football accounts on Xwitter and Instagram and deleted three-ish hours later.

I've seen a lot of the response to it before and after it was deleted. No one found it offensive, just weird. Then it gets posted to Reddit after it was deleted (I posted it to Reddit) and blogs and grifters jump on it, claiming it's an example of cancel culture and whatnot.

What likely happened is an admin saw it and the thirsty responses by weird older men it was getting and put the kibosh on it. I've heard from people who work in college administration elsewhere and the issues with it are that it gave the perception of Beck being a sugar daddy with the power dynamics in play here about whether the dance team was asked or told to take the picture. Admins and ADs get nervous whenever coaches and athletes are together outside of athletic related events, especially when the coach is a guy and the athlete is a girl. And this is at a school that had a sugar daddy controversy with its cheer team (this is the dance team FWIW) about 6 years ago. The original claim was prostitution and the team was suspended, but it turned out to be more escort/sugar daddy type stuff.

Another possible issue is Beck's left hand. Should have used the hover hand.

It likely wasn't unseemly, but it gave the perception of being unseemly.

Why is this disturbing again? I get people not liking Coastal but I feel like that was the cult of personality known as Chadwell+McCall.

I found this mostly humorous that he would be so stupid to think this was OK to post. I also found it slightly disturbing (maybe disturbing is too harsh...but definitely inappropriate) because he's an older man in a position of influence with the university hanging out at the beach with the cheerleaders. BUT to top it all off is the sign he's holding while having his arm around a bikini-clad cheerleader from his program (not just some random girl at the beach) which says "Ball at the Beach." Not sure if everyone understands that slang...and I doubt it was intentional but totally weird and inappropriate.
I'm not offended at all or anything like that, just found it in poor taste...especially since I really don't like those guys anyway,

I’m not surprised that a 57 year old coach at Coastal Carolina fraternizes with 18-22 year olds in bikinis. I’m surprised, however, that it was girls and not boys.

A full damn grown man posing without a shirt, with a gold chain, with a bunch of college girls in bikinis and as a representative of his employer. On your personal account, sure, go for it. What's real funny is my teenage son asked me if I knew what it meant like his generation invented something new. Told him, I was using pause before he was even thought of in the early 2000's. Then gave him a history lesson on who introduced it heavily to the hip hop culture and his mind was blown.
