Ehh, no reason to be that butthurt over nc state. Fans aren't that bad. That are certainly not a mid major, that's just a dumb take. When it comes down to a final four or a championship of some type I always pull for a NC school, unless it's UNC.

Why? It is his personal fandom. He hates who he hates...it is his fan world and he lives in it. I hate Dook. I hope they lose every game. It's a great day in my world when they lose. Same for EasyU as they were in CAA when I was in undergrad at U-Dub...And, No, I am not a closet UNC, I am open about it. I grew up a UNC fan and still watch them occasionally. When App. plays UNC, I hope App beats them by a million. There are many people that probably had Big 4 fandom prior to attending App. St. Hell, I grew up on the coast. Really never heard of App. St.. Actually, I was not going to attend App. St. for grad school until one of my clients said I should consider it. My initial response was...is that in Asheville? One long weekend later that spring I went to Boone..I was sold.
People be fans of whomever you want to be fans of ... except Stink!!! There are some things that are inexcusable!! Go App. St !!!

Agreed, I have lived in Wake County for over 45 years, walkable to PNC, everyone I know seems to be state fans. Arrogance is not the annoying thing about these guys, it’s their woe is me, self deprecating approach. Classic little brother syndrome. With that said, I admire their passion, regardless of how many times they loose games they shouldn’t, you know they will always be back for more. There is a long line of teams most people dislike more than NCSU. I hate Wake Forest.

I’d say ECU fans and the Charlotte fan are also worse than State fans. I’d say Wake fans, at least the ones I know, are pretty solid. Some State fans do suck, some can be arrogant and insufferable, but most I know are cool and are way better than UNC fans.

When you look at their success, or lack thereof, over the past 30 years in all sports, they are very mid major: Last football conference championship is 1979 I think. Hadn't won ACC basketball tourney since 87 before this year & last regular season since 74 I think. Baseball is the only thing that has been relevant on a national scale and that's just of recent.
When measuring success compared to their in state ACC foes, they are very mid major.
