Thanks for being stand-up members!
And, I am invited to attend.

ducking out of the football recruiting gathering in Raleigh after 10 minutes so he and his son could attend the NC State vs Duke basketball game.
Not worried at all about that. He's a father. Sounds like he's being a good dad to me.
Cobb is ASU's AD. This was a big event for ASU alumni in Raleigh. ASU provides his transportation and it is a good bet paid for his gas, food and hotel bills. Good father, bad AD.
I disagree.
The man spends COUNTLESS hours at 20 some odd sports games, all over the east coast, at all hours, all times of the year, in the office, on the phone, cleaning up messes which others below him should have handled first...
If he slips out early a few times to bond with his kid, then I say God bless him.
I'm sure he never gets the opportunity to take his son to a athletic event and bond.

Yup, I live down the road. I've seen the place. There's no denying it's top-notch (except for the pesky weight room issue

), but that doesn't mean further upgrades to the rest of the stadium, Owens, etc. can't still take place.
Oh of course. Owens needs to be destroyed, and it will.

I do agree we can make better use of space, but I'm not worried. GSU's facilities are years behind ours, and may come up to par with this renovation.

GSU was also years away from a move into FBS until a few months ago (new pres and AD work wonders) and now look at 'em.
I'm not saying our facilities are something you'd find in Timbuktu, because they're not - they're easily on par with anything in the Sun Belt or C-USA. But I'd like to see us continue to stay a step or two ahead if possible.

Agree with that. GSU will have more catching up to do than us, imo. I live in Atlanta, and know their fans...they decry how long it takes to get things done there. I don't know if it's the heat...but I can honestly say, people move at a much slower pace in South Georgia...even slower than us average Southerners.

Even though the current stadium expansion plan is not real, are there going to be any plans for updating KBS? We're entering into a whole new era in the facilities arms race. I hope, that while we've been positioning ourselves for the move, that there's been some gladhanding behind the scenes for facilities as well.
I think we'll add more boxes and club seats, depending on how the renew went this year. Because they have been sold out except for renews. That's where the money is anyway. The boxes here are nothing like Gillette Stadium but that's NFL and this is college so it was still pretty impressive.
Personally, I'd like to hear that they're going to pre-sale a new section of club seats! The black and gold toilets do add a nice touch. But being able to walk inside and get your drinks, etc is the best of both worlds.

All the things that sprang to mind that are probably better left unsaid.

One area that will addressed is if the Mountaineers, as an FCS program in transition, will begin to add some scholarship players for next season, perhaps in the form of transfers, over the summer.
I think this will indeed happen.
How will this affect their eligibility during the transition period? At present if they move from FBS to fcs they are eligible immediately. With us transitioning will they have to sit a year?
If what I read on the Sun Belt board is true, we would be able to have tham play immediately-2013 season.

Wonder how long it will take for our "re-branding" towards "App State" on web and other things to occur after today's announcement?

Secondly the Sun Belt may not allow pep rallies at conference announcements. As much as I would like to be there as well how about we all get over ourselves. ASU gave us a great education and OWES us nothing more. I don't care your Yosef giving level. If anyone here personally funded the entire feasibility study feel free to gripe.
Have to agree, the band would be bush league in my humble opinion. Fine if we do something as a university to get the students excited, but not at a press conference...
Man I so agree with you, we don't want to look like country bumpkins that finally get to visit the big city. There will be ample opportunity have the ticker tape parade but in my opinion this isn't it.

Some outside of Mountaineer Nation are already saying that about us.

And a broken stream isn't bush league?
