Suppose we are offered an invitation to join the SBC, CUSA, or MAC and accept. How does that effect next season's schedule and post season options? When would we become full members playing a full schedule and how would that effect the scheduling of ooc gams? I know this has been discussed before but it now seems worth looking at in depth as hopefully it is an issue we will be contending with soon.

If we announce prior to June 1st we will not eligible for the FCS 2013 postseason.

If we announce we will likely go to 74 scholarship players in 2013 playing our schedule as is. In 2014 we would go to 85 and begin our first FBS season.

We would not be bowl eligible until 2016.

We might be bowl eligible a lot sooner than 2016. The NCAA waived the waiting period for that this year. Made those just going through transition bowl eligible immediately. Not sure if it would apply to us or if the NCAA would have to do it again. They needed additional eligible teams for the bowl games.

We could also go immediately to the higher amount of scholarships if we wanted, but some think that it is better to space it out so that you don't have so many that you need to recruit in any one year, or lose so many in one year.
