Point taken, hence the question mark in the title, but this isn't exactly some message boarder's twitter.
Take from it what you will. I won't be snoopy dancing until I see a new logo on the field. Just passing it along.

Just giving you crap man. I still remember fondly your "A C-USA invite is imminent" posts on the old board. The good old days.

Live and learn I guess. Twas a wide-eyed, naive young professional straight out of undergrad, itching for an FBS App State.
Now that 8 months have gone by, I'm still all about "FBS NOW," but I'm just as prudent and far-sighted as you seasoned App fans.

Wasn't that bad of a game. Big fun at the start, but had good low level playback.

4 schools named for 2 spots. One of them an FBS school that has to have a leg up on the rest because of no transition period. Common sense says that, of the other 3 schools, we are best positioned. But it's hardly a lock.
One thing is for sure, someone who thinks they are a lock for these spots is going to be blindsided by reality. My gut feeling is we are not going to be one of them but any celebration of any kind is premature right now.

The leg up NM may have by being FBS is negated by their location.

Terrible location, no fan support...and The Ag school in a bad football state. Even the Texas schools would have to fly there. I don't think they have shot.

Almost sounds like a certain Georgia school that got an invite before us....

I could see the SBC going with NMSU and GSU. See the post that details Cobb's words on ESPN radio. Doesn't sound like an endorsement for the SBC. I'm not convinced the SBC is something we are still interested in pursuing.

Sure...take away the South's largest media mar ket, gigantic student body, incredibly fertile recruiting grounds, and Atlanta's status as a major transportation hub and...ummm...it's almost exactly like Georgia State?

Given what has happened the last week, and the time frames being thrown around---10 days to two weeks---leads me to believe we are in the final cut.

I don't see how his words are more descriptive of SBC than they are of CUSA. Both have schools in Texas, Oklahoma, etc.
I'll add this - SBC gains nothing but transportation headaches with NMSU. With us, they increased recruiting and media exposure in a growing state...along with an established brand.

i don't think i would be alone in saying that i would be extremely upset if cobb turned down the sbc in the same week he announced moore is done

But CUSA also has UNCC, ODU, MTSU, and Marshall which is much more regional than what exists in the SBC.
Time will tell, I guess. I do believe that we need to get to an FBS conference regardless. I just wonder if the admin thinks likewise.
Everyone was pretty sure that we were CUSA bound 6-9 months ago. Are we setting ourselves up for disappointment again?

I think Charlie would be run out of town if the ASU faithful finds out he turned down the SBC and then later on down the road CUSA does not want us. I just hope the powers that be have a plan.

Is GSU ready? I thought that they were a couple of years away? The same question about Jacksonville St?
