Bowl game financial wins/losses come down to a lot more than just numbers on a spread sheet.

I wonder if they really lost that little? I remember reading that the MAC was kicking in a supplement to help thier bowl teams offset their financial losses. This model is simply unsustainable in the long run. Schools cannot continue to take a financial beating for the "reward" of playing in a bowl game.

I read this today, and was waiting for it to be posted here. One of the large expenses was food for the players over the "winter term". I wonder how that matches up with ASUs winter break?

The lodging figure blows me away.
Lodging in Shreveport couldn't possibly be more than $100/night at any modest group rate.
that would mean 800+ people were on the tab?

Thought this was the telling line:
Luckily, the people that organize those compulsory expensive hotel stays don't know much about kickbacks, so it's probably all above board.
They are more or less saying that it is a set up. That someone is taking kick backs. That the bowl system is fixed for kickbacks and basically robbery. Someone needs to get it cleaned up.

Okay they lost a little from a bowl game. How much do you think we lose in multiple playoff games?
How much do you think they make from a TV contract?
We make how much? Z E R O!!!!!!!!!!

Has absolutely nothing to do with FCS or playoffs. It is a commentary on a system that is badly broken and has to be fixed.

Which is a commentary on the fact that millions are made on bowl games and the cost is funded by students. This will take place until the NCAA makes sure that there aren't any bowl games unless "all the schools" are protected (which will never happen). At a minimum, the bowl should be made to pay all cost for the schools.

Think that is a great idea for the bowls to pay all the schools expenses at least, as long as there are safeguards on both sides.
Believe some of these bowl presidents or commissioners are making so much money on these bowl games it's like a way to do robbery legally (or somewhat legally).

I doubt we lose anything on the play-off games. We may not make anything, but I doubt we lose anything. At least they cover our travel expenses and I think we get to keep concessions at home.

There is a little difference between our playoffs and bowl games IMHO. No one makes a killing off the playoffs, the same can't be said for the bowl games. If someone made millions off the playoffs I would say they should pay 100% of the schools cost also.
BTW, my comments don't have anything to do with NOT moving up, but I don't think it's right that the college/students that produce the product doesn't get fully compensated.

I misunderstood the tenor of the post...........I assumed it was another shot at not moving up........

It is a matter of public record. A little digging would prove to be interesting board material.

ASU loses money in the playoffs after having to pay everyone who works, and then the NCAA, even if App is at home
