With all the posts this might be old news by now. I could not get the GoASU feed to work (and I am a paying subscriber.)
The ESPN article is from ESPN.com news services concerning the ASU move. ESPN took the time to add a bit about us it seems.
http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story ... g-sun-belt
The ESPN article is the AP release for the GaSo. Just the AP release. Interesting the love ESPN still gives us.
http://espn.go.com/college-football/sto ... conference
Also this concerning ASU
There are some sports teams that won't participate in the Sun Belt Conference. The Mountaineers field hockey team will continue to compete in the NorPac Field Hockey Conference and men's soccer and wrestling will stay in the Southern Conference.
but for GaSo there is this-
With the exception of men's soccer, all other Georgia Southern teams will begin Sun Belt play in 2014 and eligible for the conference championship. Since the Sun Belt does not field a men's soccer program, Georgia Southern is negotiating to find a conference home for the team.
My emphasis on both excerpts.
The SoCon needs us for Wrestling so maybe we told them to take our Soccer if you wany our Wrestling, and GaSo was not able to bargain. Maybe GaSo really wants away from the SoCon completely and never considered staying in for one sport. Anyone have info on this.
