Counterfeit bricks!!!!!
If people thinks this then don't bid on it.
I really didn't want to do it anyway. Just thought I'd share something I thought was decently nice.
Only reason I'm bidding it out is I drove to Boone to do this. When I got there it started lightening and raining. I got pretty wet going through some of them. If someone would have offered me this without me taking a day to do it I'd jumped on it if the price was right.
Think I'm going to get rich selling 1 brick?? Lol
Now, if I was selling 40 of them them I'd be skeptical.
It won't take much for me to take it down, keep it and say nevermind. Just trying to do a decent thing.
Of course I was making a joke
Wife and I said it was probably just joking around but ya never know for sure. Lol
Everything is good! No problem on my end at all. No one has placed a bid anyway yet so I assumed it wasn't a high interest thing anyway.
If someone was really interested they would have already contacted me about it.
I'm all good.

I lived there 2 of my four years. Not really interested in one of the bricks but if you come across one of those sweet a$$ radiators that you could cook a grilled cheese sandwich on, I'll pay top dollar. Good luck on the auction.
You literally gave me instant nostalgia of me heating a sandwich up on the radiator in my closet sized room in Gardner.....

Don't feel bad about it. You put it out there and it is what it is. I have my Owen's Field House brick sitting in my office. Love the Nostalgia.

Agreed. I wouldn't take anything for my Justice Hall brick displayed in my home! Sitting on the bottom shelf on a buffet table that holds some other sentimental stuff.

I've got a tray from Welborn circa 2006 if anyone is interested. Great condition even after hitting the campus slopes. Willing to let it go for the discounted price of $3,333.

That's a little steep for an '06 model. Now, if you had a Welborn pre-owned certified '89 model in the Suicide Hill trim package, I may be interested. 8-)

Instead of selling it I have a suggestion.

Use a Dremel to remove the mortar from the center hole. This will help prevent the potential cracking from using a drill or hammer/chisel. Once removed, insert a 2 ft hardwood rod through the hole. Secure the rod using whatever method you are comfortable with or have the tools for. Paint the rod Yellow (App gold) and the brick black. Using a stencil, paint a block A on one side of the brick and "Justice" on the other side (or just two block As)(or the year of your graduation), in white lettering. Carry this with you on all business trips and nonchalantly place it on the table at the start of the meeting without saying anything.

I could mount it on a piece of stained wood and do a block "A" above it and below the "A" put Justice Hall. Not a bad idea. I need to do that and post the pic on here afterwards.

You could make alternating signage to place on it and replace it monthly. A little gold plank that says Justice affixed to the side of the brick. Then tho can place the different signs on top take a picture and post on this board. We would set up a perpetual topic. So you could put up “ Furman Sucks” or “1-0” or even “Capel”😀😀😀😀

We were in Boone back in the fall during demolition and talked with one of the foremen. Asked what the plans were for the bricks and he said the building was full of asbestos so they would not be available for sale or otherwise. Would have like to have a brick but let it go after that.

You could take the three bricks and arrange them in a U shape, like Justice. Then, if you get someone to paint little windows and doors on the bricks, you can have your own tiny Justice.

I don't think anyone was leveling serious accusations regarding the provenance of the bricks in the above photo.

Just from the glance of my untrained eye...they appear to be of a late 60's/early 70's construct, with drab mortar likened to that used on pretty much every campus building constructed during that timeframe.

Now, is anyone gonna sack up and buy this thing or what?

Now that's the best suggestion yet, RichmondApp. I'd write a check for one of those.

Antiques Roadshow valuation?

I will be getting bricks from Bowie and Eggers....Freshman year 70-71 and Sophomore year 71-72 respectively.

I would take one of those urinals we had in our rooms in Frank.

We just used the sinks we had in our rooms in Justice. Another perk of living there along with the radiator/cook station.

I am pretty sure that is what he was referencing. Frank had sinks in the rooms but not urinals.
