App/Boone is obviously correct for NC.
From all the college towns I've been to, I think they got GA, FL, AL, TN, WV, MD, KY, and PA right. Athens OH is nice so OH is probably right also but Oxford OH (Miami OH) is equally nice - that's a tossup. I've never been to Tempe AZ, but I have spent two weeks in Tucson for work and if I didn't know U of Arizona was there before hand I never would have known it was home to a major university - so I guess Tempe wins their state? And Newark wins DE running unopposed.
CA is wrong - Berkeley is a dump, my vote is San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly). I don't know the right answer for NE but if it is Lincoln that would just be sad. Blacksburg clearly tops Charlottesville in VA. TX should be San Marcos/Tx St, MA should be Amherst/UMass, and I would have picked Charleston for SC.
I can't speak from experience for any other choices.

California should be Pali Alto. Beautiful place and great college atmosphere. South Carolina shold be Clemson hands down. Clemson and Boone have a lot in common. I would probably go College Station for best college town in Texas.

Blacksburg is not better than Charlottesville. Maybe if you compare Saturday's during football season, but as far as college town vibes, it's Charlottesville without a doubt.

Boone is appsolutely correct for N.C. and Olxford, Mississippi and Ole Miss have no compettion in the country for being the best, if not for Boone, of course.

No way in the world that Columbia, SC should be ahead of Clemson. It's not even close. That's the most glaring one I see.

Fair - in retrospect, I should not have said Blacksburg is CLEARLY a better college town than Charlottesville. I do think B-burg is tops but that is probably just because I am in C-ville quite frequently and rarely ever come in contact with the university environs.
