Freshman
I just felt I needed to tell all my friends on this site the daughter is leaving tomorrow for App staying with family this weekend in preparation for the big move Monday. I thought I was prepared but I’m definitely not . As I was topping the fluids off in her car it just hit me like a ton of bricks. I’m not an Alumni but I am arguably the biggest non alumni out there. My dad went to school at App and I’ve been raised Black and Gold since my first game when I was two. I’m 43 . A lot of uncertainty going into this year but seeing her Jeep packed to the gills gave me hope she knocks pre med out of the park. Go Apps!

Re: Freshman
Congratulations and I am so happy for you. My son just graduated in May and I remember all of those emotions. Sounds like your daughter has a plan and that puts her light years ahead of most at this point. I wish her the best.
As you move in on Monday I will be at the YOSEF Club tent @ the North End Zone facility. You will not be able to miss us hopefully. Please stop by and say hello. If you are interested in signing up your daughter for the Student YOSEF Club I would be honored to assist you! No pressure and if she is not interested please stop by anyway. I will PM you my contact info.
GO APP!!!

Re: Freshman
Agree, nothing better than an App family!!! I'm an '86 grad, daughters graduated in 2011 & 2013. Son-in-law is also a 2013 grad and I have twin boys who are starting their junior year this fall. I'm heading up to Boone today and the boys are coming up Sunday. Yosef Club member, season football ticket holder.....I swear they should name a building up there after us. Go App!

Re: Freshman
Enjoy it, as I know my soon to be 15 yr old daughter will not pick App... I've got to hold on to hope that one of the boys do. And that I can afford it by that time.
Re: Freshman
Congratulations to your daughter. And peace for mom and dad. No matter how much you prepare you’re not prepared. It’s a landmark of life yours and hers. Excitement turns to reality and the reality hits your gut. My daughter went to school 1/2 hour from home. Freshman couldn’t have cars on campus. The day she moved in was a tough one. There were all kinds of emotions. Graduation was unbelievable! Another life change. Now her wedding coming up. You’ll do just fine and will be very proud of her. And having that ASU DAD sticker on your car is something all dads do not get to have. Congratulations to your family.

Re: Freshman
Congrats. Wife and I are both grads. One daughter is a junior at this beloved university. Attending App St was not even a thought to me being a coastal guy. One of my customers came into the bank congratulating me on going to grad school. I had chosen UGA. He inquired if I had considered App. My first response was "is that in Asheville?". He laughed. He said to take a trip. I did. Was able to meet with department chair during visit. Never looked back. We hope to retire in the area

Post made me think back to freshman football move-in in 1968. Third floor Justice. Quite an experience and some great memories. Some friends that still keep in touch. It’s great to be an old Mountaineer!

Re: Freshman
Congrats! Class of 86 for me - met my wife at App - her father was Yosef back in the early 60's at the football games - daughter and son in law are both graduates of App - great experience - might find my way back to Boone in retirement.
