I'm installing a new landing page for the board that removes the right sidebar. To login - there is a login button in the top right and towards the bottom of the board. Please be patient as this may take a while to perfect.

What's up with having to use Facebook to log in? That may drive me away from this board.

Same here. I try to avoid Facebook apps whenever possible.

You shouldn't need facebook to login. It is simply an option. You should be able to use your regular login username and password. I'll check into it though.

It's not just the login. I was coming in by clicking a topic notification link, and I got redirected to a Yosef's Cabin Facebook app. Then I tried just typing in the URL for the MMB and I got redirected to the app again. And I was already logged in, as far as I know.

Ok. Let's see if this most recent change helps. I've removed the top. Let me know if you're still having the facebook problems.

It is forcing me to log in through Facebook. Had to use wife's facebook acct since I o not have. Hope this is changed soon.

I've done my share of griping at times, but I really appreciate the work you and the other board mods are doing replying and responding to criticism (constructive and otherwise) and general input. Keep up the good work guys. It's getting there.

I was having the Facebook redirect too, but it seems to be fixed now.

Hopefully the facebook re-direct is gone. Please let me know if anyone else is experiencing that. I will work on 'prettying' this up so it can access the rest of the site later. My main concern is making sure it works properly first.

Also - please let me know about these other issues that I believe should be resolved:

Everyone needs to calm their "I'm leaving this board!" claims. This board is a work in progress, and to be honest, it is the only forum out there with enough traffic to support ASU discussion. The members will build back over time.

Overall I am fine with the board. I am not a big fan of the ads, but I don't begrudge making enough to cover the cost of the web host. But I really don't care to integrate this into Facebook. That is my one sticking point, and it seems that is fixed for now.

It's funny. I've been reading the posts about Facebook and I have never been asked to log in using FB. I told Yosef on another thread that I have been getting warnings about the page and sometimes IE and Firefox close it as soon as I try to open but I'm curious about the FB thing. Did the ones who were having that problem choose Like in Facebook? I haven't done that and I wondered if that might have something to do with why I've never been asked to log in through it. Just curious.

BTW McLeansville...Just checking on my offical MMB RailFan hat. I was planning to wear it to a game to help ID me to others

I did "like" YC on Facebook. I am not overly anti-FB, I use it some. I just don't care to integrate the two, beyond a bit of advertising by liking it on FB. I think there was a bug in the web page for a few hours that was fixed. It may have been tied to liking on FB. Either way there was no way to login or even read the board without using FB to log in. So I could not post or even read about the problem until I logged in through FB. But it is all good now.

I gotta give you guys massive credit for a page that not only looks good... but is becoming increasingly better as time goes by!

I'm pretty happy with the board.. but have a slight suggestion...

Can we make a thread disappear from the "landing" page AFTER we've read all the messages in it? I know delphi had something like that and I really used it a lot.

If not I'm still VERY happy with all the work you've put in this thing!

Maybe I missed it.... but my "thumbs down" button is gone..... I see the "thumbs up" but not the old "thumbs down"..... I searched but did not find any postings about it being removed. How am I to give Jcline negative reviews if I can't "thumb down" him?
