NOLA Roll Call

Will be about 16 or so in our group. Several of us will run the Dashing Through the Dome Friday night. Did it last year and it was a lot of fun. Free beer and food after the run. Oh and if you see Appy Clause, you will see me. If you see TD Santa, you will see PBR. He has the daddy (original) and I have the son. Go Apps!!

I’ve seen you at just about every road trip. Cheers. I met BeerHatGuy after the NO Bowl in the Superdome concourse last year, great guy. It seemed he had consumed his fair share of PBRs that night.

I'm usually the one with shorts and t-shirt on while everyone else has jeans and coats on. My wife tells me I'm weird. Just take a lot to get me cold. Been like that my entire life. I'm usually at most of the away games. Tell me hello in NOLA. He probably consumed bourbon he somehow snuck into the game. LOLOL

You got it. See you down there. My kids got a pic with App Santa this past Saturday, they will be looking to get another down in NoLA. I’m guessing that was your wife I met down on the field with Santa Saturday.

No, she didn't make the game. Most likely it was Zac's mother or aunt.

I know Zac's mom and aunt, it was not them. It was another lady. Sorry to confuse her for your wife! She was down in the field with it taking pictures from different angles. Regardless, the pictures turned out great!

I've never been a fan of the official tailgates at away games... but this one actually looks like a solid deal.

Last years was actually in the dome...this year it appears to be just adjacent in the Benson tower. Either way, last year was well worth it. Book it!

Seems kind of exspensive. The App Tailgate is $45, so you are paying $55 for a bus ride to and from the stadium.

I personally can’t go due to other obligations, but I’ve donated two tickets to Student Yosef Club members who will be attended. The students did an amazing job packing the Rock all year, let’s get as many down there as possible!

I will be glad to do this as I am unable to go. What do I need to do to make a contribution?

I hate it, but due to family obligations this will be the first bowl game that I'll miss. Had a great time in NOLA last year. I know the black and gold will be well represented on Bourbon Street. Be loud and proud!!

You can just do the app tailgate for $45 and Uber is what we did and Uber ride is way less. The tailgate is worth it. Food is great and the bar is open bar except liquor!

Have our flights and hotel (Hyatt right beside the Dome). Thinking of doing the App tailgate as well. Any help would be appreciated.

Went to all 3 National Championships in Chattanooga, first time for a bowl! Excited!

Please order through the App State official website or Ticket Office. We need to sell out our allotment!!! Helps the University and looks great for future (Larger) Bowl games.

Those of you that are going ... don’t go to cafe du monde. Go to cafe beignets! It’s much better and it is where the locals go. It’s close to Bourbon Street. Wife and I walked it last year. Have fun be safe eat great food! My black App shirt looked like I had been doing lines of coke after I left Cage Beignets haha. Great stuff. Can’t go this year due to family obligations but I will be watching! Someone eat a beignet for me!

I enjoyed Cafe du Monde, but I'd definitely be up for trying something new - especially if it's less crowded.

This might warrant a separate thread, but I'd be interested to hear what people's favorite (or non-favorite) spots were from last year or any previous experience.

We had great meals at Cafe Pontalba and Olde Nola Cookery. Pontalba was the first place we went and the guy gave us tons of recommendations for other good restaurants, more than we could get to.

I was disappointed in Royal House, but perhaps it would have been better for dinner (we went for lunch).

And I assume this goes without saying, but multiple visits to Willie's Chicken Shack (at all hours) are a given.
