We're doing the Charlotte-Salt Lake-Butte option. From your statement, I gather there is some problem with parking at Charlotte?

We are flying out of Charlotte to Butte on 8/28 with a return on 9/2. Renting a car in Butte, bringing our OLD STYLE Yosef magnet for the rental car. Rented a cabin along the river outside of Missoula, bringing nothing but App shirts for the week, and looking forward to our first win west of the Mississippi.

Looking forward to the Griz fans and tailgating. For the game, should we be wearing gold, black or white?

PS - if anyone is flying in to Butte on Wed (arriving around 12:30 pm from Salt Lake) and need a ride to Missoula - let us know. We will be driving back to Butte on Sunday, with an early Monday morning flight out.

Best Missoula Downtown bars (in no particularly order):

Reds (classic dive bar; 20 somethings to 80 somethings).

The Missoula Club ("The Mo Club"): dive bar with terrific artery clogging burgers.

Tamarack Brewing (Brew pub)

Iron Horse (restaurant bar; little more upscale; tends to draw a younger crowd)

Press Box (Sports bar; removed from downtown, but a great pre-game location literally across the footbridge from the stadium).

Charlie B's. (not sure how to describe it; must be experienced)

Al and Vic's (dive bar; eclectic and wide-age crowd)

There are also a number of breweries in town:

Bayern Brewing
Draught Works
Kettlehouse (2 locations)
Flathead Brewing
Tamarack
Big Sky (maker of Moose Drool)

All of those are good and any are worth a stop (particularly Bayern, Kettlehouse and Draught Works). There's even a distillery (Montgomery), although it probably doesn't measure up to Tennessee/NC shine!! 8-)

There's a TON of great places. Just walk around downtown. You'll run into many Griz fans everywhere, but especially the MoClub and Reds.

Go downtown to the Mo Club, Reds Bar and if you want a younger crowd hit Stockmans. Those 3 are a must see in Missoula

You can try the Top Hat they usually have live music but its not my scene and I havent been in there for years.

I will be at the Mo Club or Reds with some of the other App and Griz guys

I have the exact same itinerary Travelineer! Is this Mack whom I have been communicating with about the trip or yet a third App Fan that is taking the exact same flights both in and out of Butte? Its getting close! Two weeks from yesterday!!! I think I'm wearing black with old school yosef for the game but I'll throw the gold or white on if thats the consensus!!!

I know of at least 4 of us on that flight. We shouldn't too hard to pick out of the group.

Well...we are at least on the flight to Salt Lake, but we fly direct to Missoula from there....right?

Meet and greet Friday night sounds awesome. I have heard Reds bar and the Missoula Club should be places to go.

Can't go wrong with either! But neither place is large. Come early, drink often! 8-)
