Running Backs ASU 2013

Unread post by watchout4#29 » Mon Aug 26, 2013 2:54 pm

Anyone have any idea of the pecking order for this year at RB. I have a dog in the hunt. Interested to get some opinions.

Two Deep reads:

RUNNING BACK
28 RICKY FERGERSON (5-8, 182, So.)
14 Marcus Cox (5-10, 185, Fr.)
or 20 Paul Magloire (6-2, 210, Fr.)

While Cox had a couple long runs on passes out of the backfield at FF, I thought Davidson looked more accomplished between the tackles and Fergerson didn't play at FF.

Either way, we've got a good group of backs and hopefully one of the 3 above will be what we need.

I don't think it really matters who starts, all of these backs are going to get alot of playing time, if we can get 150-200 yds a game, and a couple of tds I would be happy, also hope we can find a back who can score in the redzone

I'm slowly adjusting to the idea of our being deeper than the two deep as we add more scholarships. I keep reliving games like ECU in the beastly heat and their being able to sub in more fresh bodies making all the difference in the world. More and more quality young 'uns will build a finer and finer program for us. Go App!

'09 and '12 were wins at ECU if App had 88 scholarships.

If we had 88 scholarships, we'd probably be on some sort of NCAA probation by now (we would only be allowed 85 if we were BCS). ;)

For 2009, we had the players, even without Armanti, all we needed was one more play and one more minute.
2012 was another story. The heat was unbearable. By half time most fans were gone, over 300 cases of heat sickness reported. We needed all the players we could get to survive those conditions.

I went down at that game. First time that has ever happened to me. Thanks again to those who helped. I was back in my seat for the second half.

Hate to say this, but our administration should never never never have allowed that game to have been played at that time of day at that time of year, especially in an area near a coast that gets so humid at that time of year. Same would go with playing it in Savannah or SE coast or Gulf.

People could have died.
