I just consider the annual subscription to be another donation. I never expect to be able to watch anything, so whatever I do get is a bonus.

This is my recommendation for the funniest post of the year!appst89 wrote:I just consider the annual subscription to be another donation. I never expect to be able to watch anything, so whatever I do get is a bonus.
Go APPS!

gotta feel sorry for DJ, he seems to be really trying, but same thing year after year, agree with 89, I just look at it as one of my yearly donations.

Re: Appstatesports.com/Neulion Stream Test
Is there no other streaming service available? Can we not afford something better? I did some techy stuff at my old job with site servers ect, and once we had a recurring problem we found a new server. This is a free market. Find a service that's worth a damn. It's not only a pain for paying subscribers, it's just plain embarrassing for a D-1 program of our stature.

Re: Appstatesports.com/Neulion Stream Test
I just ran through the test. Screen shows the stadium lot with the audio of last years furman game. video was in 720 and audio was in stereo.
Re: Appstatesports.com/Neulion Stream Test
All,
The stream test is up and functional at this point. We apologize for the delay earlier as we had a bad encoding device on campus. Please take note of a new functions:
1) the back arrow on the bottom left of the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen will allow you to jump back 10 seconds. You can keep pressing that and keep going back. When you want to resume live play, just click live.
2) on the bottom right of the same bar you will see another drop down menu that says "best" by default. That will allow you to pick the rate that best streams to your computer. You can change the rate based on the speed of your setup..if you are on dialup..which 10% of you still are..the lowest setting needs to be used. If you are on cable or T1 or some rates on DSL, you can view on 720. The "best" setting should take you to the best setting for your machine regardless.
3) You'll notice when you first login that the image will be grainy and audio muffled for a couple of seconds (still viewable and listenable by normal standards), but then you will notice the stream changes dramatically for the better. That is designed to occur that way as that is the adaptive stream figuring out when the best speed for your machine is at the time.
Please email me if you have any more questions or concerns.

Worked like a charm for me. I really, really hope this year this service finally delivers. It has been nothing but a disappointment and embarrassment. I don't know the in's and out's of this technology but a school like ASU should not still be struggling with this technology.

Thanks for joining the new MMB. I know you did not post often on the old site, and your job is such that you really can't do much posting on an unofficial board such as this, but it is nice to see you here.
And personally as an Eastern Wildcat I do appreciate you not using your old MMB moniker.

By the way, when I was on the test stream the video quality was great and the sound was good. No problems on my end.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Re: Appstatesports.com/Neulion Stream Test
Good to see and hear. Anything PRO-Active APPSports can do, in terms of fans, and media, in getting the action and info off the mountain, is a good thing. With the FBS move we can't Mickey Mouse around.
APP folks will have to diligently work to market, share and provide, to those (fans and media) off the mountain, as much info and video as possible. With tighter budgets, reduced news and sports departments, never "assume" that a media outlet will send someone to THE ROCK, when local, closer to home, teams are in action. Kills me to say, I know, but it's the reality of the business today.
Thus far, APP has been on POINT with it. Keep up the good work and kick some butt this year!
GO MOUNTAINEERS!
