As someone else eluded to, I think last weekend was the product of the opponent. In general out fanbase was not interested in seeing us play A&T, given our historical performance against them. I think this fact was magnified as I believe I saw that the ticket office offered a 3rd "Build your own" mini pack this year in addition to the traditional "homecoming" and "touchdown" packages. The traditional mini-packs always ensured better attendance at the lower profile games. Given the 3rd mini-pack offered, my guess is mini-pack holders loaded up on the following games Homecoming, Ga So., and WCU.Saint3333 wrote:Not sure, but based upon this and the number of unused seats in the east stands (hill was full). It is financial as evidenced by our fans would rather pay $5 less and sit in the grass.Yosef84 wrote:Come on, Saint. Our attendance has far exceeded the official seating for years. Posts like this are just rediculous. We cannot continue selling grass tickets indefinitely. I know some folks love the bank, but we need the OFFICIAL capacity to be closer to 30. If your argument is financial, then you have a point, but to argue that there isn't demand is just not true.Saint3333 wrote:Not sure, but based upon this and the number of unused seats in the east stands (hill was full). We need to get existing stadium expansion paid for before we take on further expansion. JMO.

Agreed the money isn't available at this time without some big donors stepping in.MountainMan wrote:We need to get existing stadium expansion paid for before we take on further expansion. JMO.

I wouldn't argue with that. That's why I said that, if Saint's arguement was financial, he had a point. I do believe that the university has to be financially responsible in how we proceed. I'm simply saying that the demand has been there for quite a while. I'm just not sure when the resources will be available.MountainMan wrote:We need to get existing stadium expansion paid for before we take on further expansion. JMO.

Re: Is it me...
We use to buy regular seats (at the same price) and sit on the hill all the time when we went in large groups and with a bunch of kids. I like to option to move around, it's near the bathrooms and the kids can play.DaphneUrquhart wrote: It looks like the ticket office shows the grass hill as "sold out" until the regular tickets are sold. The grass hill seats are usually (at least the last couple of years IIRC) the same price as regular adult tickets. My guess would be that folks who want to be on the hill buy the reserved seat they need to buy then go to the hill anyway.
I do believe the economy continues to be a challenge for nearly every fan in some way, shape, or form. Regardless of what the media might have us believe, NC has been hurting badly since late 2008. Take a look in your town at empty commercial real estate. If it's anything like Asheville (which has fared pretty well all things considered), there's a bunch of empty space. If the stores / shops / businesses are missing, our fans will be missing, too. Business = jobs = disposable income = fans in the stands (or something like that)
Now however with the new fence it's much harder to sit lower and see the field, plus now my butt hurts and my kids are usually in the student section so I have a regular seat.
I wouldn't think too much about the number of tickets on here for sale, however. As more people have facebook, twitter, etc more people find out about this site. If you know about this site and you have tickets for sale, this is a good place to get a hit. I just think the growing notice of MMB and that it's a APP fan site is what draws the tickets. I haven't been on here that long, but that would be my guess at this point.

And before we get any big donor money, we need staff who are capable of soliciting it.Saint3333 wrote:Agreed the money isn't available at this time without some big donors stepping in.MountainMan wrote:We need to get existing stadium expansion paid for before we take on further expansion. JMO.

If running at over capacity of 139% to as much as 143% of capacity with thousands sitting on what is sometimes a wet bank doesn't get the administration to borrow the money from a bank, do not know what would. Especially since we need additional permanent seating in order to justify BCS and upper tier FBS schools to pledge to come to Boone to play.

Re: Is it me...
StubHub is still a primary place people go for tickets. As well as craigslist. You also have a better chance of selling your tickets for more money on those sites than on here.
