You can debate whether it was right to begin that discussion following the 2011 season, but to paint Peacock and Cobb as being insensitive or unprofessional on this specific matter is inaccurate.

100%. One thing people have to realize is that a big issue was also the fact that Jerry Moore did not want to move up. He was happy being a big dog in the SoCon and he was fighting the efforts to move up. I can see why Jerry wanted to hang on because many people don't want to just walk away but it was time and we needed people that were 100% all in on moving up. If he had stayed a few more years I think it would have hurt his legacy.

So many programs never fully recover from removing a popular coach regardless of the circumstances. Appalachian has done a fine job of recovery. Just ask N.C. State, Western Carolina, and ECU as to how not to do it...
