Wofford in Review

Unread post by asutrnr81 » Mon Nov 18, 2013 8:00 am

Well we play well again and it is as if the MMB is just waiting to pounce. It's Monday and no real Woofy Thread! I was going to go with Matt's Wofford Highlights but it got off to a review of the video.

Oh Well:
The Good:
1. Marcus Cox is a Horse! I will be glad when we can run him 20 and our # Two back 15 and get the similar or more yardage. Marcus by the 4th quarter is just kicking butt!
2. We continue to ask Cam to do just enough
3. Our receiving core post #10 has been stellar! Those guys are kicking butt! The Chancellor--Peacock deserves a lot of credit for never quitting!...and whether the pass receiving record was a personal goal or not.....I love that kids effort. T-Dub is just plain crazy good. There is not a tougher receiver we play! McFresh and Malachi are rounding into future stars!...and finally a TE message!
4. That patchwork OL was VERY good! Got to love the hustle and I think I actually saw a game without a Shaq--procedure penalty....The hold was questionable!..and the lineman down field call was due to the defensive pass coverage....Kam had to check off from what he wanted to throw.
5.Defensively we played well the 2nd half...the first half was missed assignment after missed assignment. (I loved the coaching that went on after the possessions!)

The Bad:
1. So what are we on "trick" plays inside the 5 yard line for the year? 0-fer I think. The wildcat with Marcus taking the direct snap fooled no one...and the fake freaking fieldgoal with Drew Stewart taking the pitch was supposed to be what? From what I can tell our "trick" plays from inside the 5 have resulted in a 3-7 point differential from what should have been at least 14 points for ASU and none for the opponents!

The Ugly:
Well....that has to be the forthcoming crowd headed in from Cullowhee! They wear that ugly purple! WCU!

Glass half full all the time!
Go APPS!

It would be difficult to say too much about the good that guys like Karl Anderson, Andrew Peacock, and Tony Washington have done this year. Those guys have truly finished strong. Their leadership and legacy bodes well for them and for future generations of Mountaineers.
If serving is beneath you, then leading is beyond you.

Daph, you are correct! I forgot about mentioning Anderson! I should have! My bad!

Our "D" shut them down in the second half. 51 yards rushing for Woffie in the 2nd half. We also gave them a lucky 40+ yard pass. Take that away, they did nothing. I thought they played very well and it will only get better next week and the years to come. The play calling was awesome again yesterday. Sat is learning to be a good coach.
