I remain unhappy with Loggains for sending out Swann against JMU to get battered to death, but he should have another season to get bowl eligible. i don't think he should survive another 7+ loss season. next year will be critical for App State Football, Loggains career as a Head Coach, and DG's longevity as our AD.

Yet again, hard to win when you give up 30 and 450 on defense.

Kicker has to make the kicks. Defense can’t get walked down with a 6 point lead.
Offense can’t have timely penalties even if it was bullcrap or not. OL struggled a lot today too.

Good teams win that game no problem.

This is embarrassing to end like this but not shocked. The media should ask what the strategy was late in the 4th. We were calling plays like we just wanted to move the chains and drain the clock but left way too much time on the play clock. Then the TD pass to TE being overturned due to formation is another one to ask. How does the staff not call timeout to correct that error? I can't blame the kicker because he kept us in the game but we never should have needed that.

We have to give coaches time but that fourth quarter tells me that Loggains did not learn anything by the end of the season. If we won't win 7 or more games next year then I will join in with those who called for change earlier this month and say we should move on from Loggains. He is bringing in a great group, if we can keep them, but if Loggains does not improve his management of the game and make some staff changes I believe he will be fired at the end of next season.

It’s the same issue as last week. Could have left a lot less time on the game clock.

Great play call for the TD, if not for the penalty. But, going for it on 4th and 6 might have been a better call.

Defense played inspired today (albeit the final drive). No complimentary football and special teams was the Achilles today.

I actually am not here right now. I need an explanation for the illegal formation. Was that an execution error or did the coaches call a flawed play? If not for an infraction we call that a great, ballsy call to put the game away. Did the coaches allow Arkansas State to march down the field like that to end the game when all we needed was a stop? Our fourth quarter offense actually looked good after it had been shut down in other games this season (Coastal, Oregon State).

it was an awesome call. i am unfortunately hopeful it was a player mistake. that's a lot easier to explain than the alternative flawed play scenario. of course that also leads into a conversation about how we continue to fail at execution. i dunno, off season problems now.

Not really sure I know how to articulate this, but the sort of emotionless, faux nfl game management is not doing it for me. I’ll support DL trying to develop something for a year or two, but I would love to have a college football coach with passion and hit them in the mouth mentality. We had quite a few opportunities to put teams away this year. I know that most of us didn’t have super high expectations this season, but the staff and players were more disappointing than I expected. If most of the money and resources are going to football, the product needs to be better, even if with a first year staff and many new players. How the hell do we line up in an illegal formation 12 games into the season with the game and season on the line? Maybe the 1000 reps are whatever nfl bs was mentioned in preseason is not the way to prep a G5 college program. The high number of injuries come to mind.….also, I’ve held back on this all season, but we seem to have lots of dumb players, and that goes back several seasons. I’ll step off the soapbox now.

Find some better talent that doesn’t piss down their leg at the end of games. And coach better in big moments.

Serious question here. If you take over a college football team and immediately need to refill half of the roster realistically how do you do it? I’m sure there are some tiers of talent within the Portal. I’m not unrealistic enough to think that mid or upper tier talent is begging to play for us. I still believe Boone is Gods country but do guys in a Portal believe it or care?

In the old world we recruited those overlooked guys and developed them over a couple of years. Many of them played with their hair on fire often to prove they were legit P5 talent but they remained loyal and we saw the results.

We dominated a SOCON that included schools half our size. The 3 straight championships were awesome. We moved into a glorified FCS conference and had immediate success against Idaho, New Mexico State and La Monroe. Still awesome. Now the Belt has changed and we have been caught or surpassed and it sucks. I really don’t see how we get a constantly changing roster care about TIGMA like we do.

It appeared to be a player mistake but someone in booth should have noticed and said to call timeout. Maybe they did and the ball was snapped too quick but if you get to the line with 25 seconds on clock and drain it enough there should be time to realize it and call a timeout.

i'll pretend you're being sincere with this post. what's your suggestion? do you really believe firing a coach after one 5-7 season is the answer? are you aware of other programs that continually replace their entire coaching staff on an annual basis and find immediate success? it's incredibly rare, even more so year over year.

It's also incredibly expensive to do so. for our program which we're all aware struggles financially.

So I'll open it over to you, what is your alternative? we fire Loggains, someone? pays his buyout, someone? pays for another coach who just watched us fire a guy for going 5-7 after one season, and then if he also wins 5 or less, we fire him too? would love to hear your plan.
