Honestly, I'd rather us run with and develop that 3 star dual threat qb we recruited than even try to bring this guy on for a single season if he crazily decided to take our 500k over the 4mil+ he would get elsewhere.

There’s that 4D chess being played again. How do you square that with the 35 guys who have declared for the transfer portal if everyone wants the chance to be coached by this vaunted staff?And what does legitimate person even mean? All this wheeling and dealing means zero if he can’t successfully coach the players he has.

As far as selling the program goes thats far far ahead to be foreseen. These young players aren't going to care that a QB went up the mountain to go snowboarding. They just want to know what App State will pay them and if its not what they want then they won't come. 10+ years ago this action would have carried a small amount of recruiting weight...maybe...but now? The idea of people griping is a general take on the overall board. I didn't say they were griping on this post. Also, young highschool players will care. In our church we have a kicker who will play in college and yes he thinks about money but he's also looking at where the players he likes play. Where they go. What they do. All the young players do. To think they don't is short-sighted.

He did pull in a 4-star and in the past that was unheard of for App. I give him Kudos for making it sound like App is the place to be. We just signed probably the highest rated freshman class. He can sell a program and that is first step. Now he just needs to clean up his clock management, make some good staff changes, and win games. If he can do that he will make himself quite a hot commodity with P4 programs showing he can recruit and lead a program to a lot of wins. I am hoping that he can.
