The plan at Qb is a dude who couldn’t get on the field at Purdue?
It was a thought that crossed my mind as well, but reality is this is our market. And someone coach and some of our players has familiarity with.
He’s also mobile.
Here’s his game versus Washington. I like some of what I see.
I gotta be honest, nothing here gave me a warm fuzzy. He stares down receivers and didn’t seem very mobile. Only went 22 yards on 11 carries. I’m hoping against hope it was just due to Purdue being awful, but am not convinced.

I wish we’d go after this guy…. Beau Brungard Youngstown St. Jr. QB 13 645 4702 This guy was the FCS most productive dual threat QB.
Very curious and interested in this guy too. Someone mentioned him on here (may have been you) so I looked into him. Dude looks like a stud, won the Walter Payton award too. Definitely worth a shot.

I personally was hoping for Marcus Stokes. Before his social media incident, it was planned for him to compete for the starting role at Florida as a true freshman. He was a finalist for the D2 equivalent of the heisman this year. Dual threat that seems to have the it factor.
Would assume DLo learned from this past season and won’t be throwing NIL at two different QBs so that ship has likely sailed. Not sold on Malachi. Reeks of SEC bias by DLo (shocker). Do not like the fact we chased Malachi hard all last portal, for him to ignore us for Purdue, just to come crawling back. Who knows though. Maybe he will turn out here. Hopefully I’ll be eating crow at the end of next season!
I doubt we only settle for 1 QB.
Have to get 3 at a minimum I think. Maybe more if there are PWOs

He looks like he has elected to stay at YSU and hasn’t entered the portal. App wouldn’t have the money or influence to change that decision.

We have no money.
Not many dual threats out there.
And if they are any good, they’re getting $1M+.
Let’s see the team around him first
Don’t get me wrong - schematic fit is huge for these guys, and the Purdue situation could have been dreadful to the point Tom Brady couldn’t perform. I’m so confused - do we have money or not? Hasn’t it been reported our NIL budget has doubled from last season? I’ve seen up to $5 million reported in funds.
$5 million. Seems high

There is still some time left for YSU qb…. the kid is a beast, 3200 passing with 26 tds and 3 ints. ….. also 1400 yds rushing. He’s not the size DLO prefers 6’0 215…… but the kid is crazy productive. I’d go all in.

He’s not in the portal. You can’t go all in on someone not wanting to leave their current school.

If you believe the post from the Stetson coach, we are already tampering on the FCS level. If so, might as well go for the best player we can get at FCS.

If you believe we could even afford the best player in FCS, then we wouldn’t be tampering with Stetson players.

This isn’t worth arguing about but you certainly can talk with his agent (assuming he has one) … when you listen to Cignetti one of the things he says now, is that you get players that are productive not players that have potential. If you can’t get this kid, then there are a couple of D2 kids who are dual threats who weren’t as productive but have actually played and have actual production on the field.. those would be my preference… before someone with potential.

When you say D2, do you really mean division II which includes Allen University, Barton College, Catawba College, Chowan University, Erskine College, etc. Or are you talking about FCS which is NCAA Division I. Because I don't really think we should be going after any D2 kids.

Yes I mean DII…. there are plenty of talented kids in DIi sprinkled throughout P4. For whatever the reason they got looked over but really can perform. One of the most obvious ones is the QB for Ole Miss, Trinidad Chambliss, he was at Ferris St for 3 yrs. You got to turnover all the rocks to find your gold.
