Re: Portal time 25-26
I was just about to post. It will be interesting to see who the guilty tampering party is here.
Re: Portal time 25-26
Cooper looks like he has alot of promise. I sure hope (and assume) that we have made him a reasonable NIL offer to him with whatever NIL funds we have remaining. I would rather give the money to him who has proven himself somewhat than use the same funds to take a risk on somebody from another school. Perhaps DLo has a few irons in the fire on the DL line that have not made their commitment decisions yet. Seems like we have done pretty well with most of the other position groups but while we have some highly rated DL prospects coming in for 2026 the overall room is extremely thin especially if we have injuries or if some of the freshmen aren't ready to contribute this fall.

Re: Portal time 25-26
We do still need OL and DL to me. As well as more depth in a few places.
Seems we are settling for what we have at TE except for looking for a walk on. So Hope the freshman works out well.

Not sure what is reasonable nil offer anymore. I guess that is in the eyes of the beholder. Dook QB is scheduled to make around $4.0M at Dook in 26... Just entered the portal.

Just saw we lost one of our DLine coaches to USF. Wonder if that’s why Cooper entered the portal. Wouldn’t surprise me if he Cooper follows him to USF.

So, Wisconsin is guilty of tampering. Not that it matters, nothing will happen, and I assume everyone is doing it anyways.

Yep. It’s extremely frustrating. You go two months thinking you have a player confirmed to return and then they get snatched on the last day.appstate24 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 16, 2026 9:30 pmSo, Wisconsin is guilty of tampering. Wisconsin is ass. Even bad P4s have money. It’s a never ending saga. Not sure how we sustain when the worst of the P4s and G5s can throw money at our guys.appstate24 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 16, 2026 9:30 pmSo, Wisconsin is guilty of tampering. I’m thinking we need $10M+/year to be relevant in FBS.

Re: Portal time 25-26
The bugs in Greenville are overstated man. I live in Edenton now, and in town the bugs can be annoying but it isn’t horrible. Go 12 miles up river where I actually live and you don’t go outside without a bug net. You may as well be living on a jungle, especially a day after it rains.boonetown1 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 10, 2026 5:03 pmI was about to say, people bash on ecu and Greenville. It sucks to live there post college, but I would think as a student it’s fun; like any college. And they have a great stadium with a team that’s trending up.ericsaid wrote: ↑Sat Jan 10, 2026 4:44 pmDowntown Greenville on Friday and Saturday is a good time if you’re 18-23 and reasonably good looking. Just saying…
I do remember being at a party in 2009 when the football team broke out into a fight, as well. ECU went on to win C-USA that year. Saw the QB whole beat App in 2012 selling weed to, I guess pay for things? In 2010. Rio ended up being benched and never graduated as far as I know.
Not a lot of dull moments in Greenville, for sure.
Regarding heat, bugs and humidity like some have mentioned. Most of our players are from the areas that are similar.

I have two children at ECU and I thoroughly enjoy going to their football and basketball games. You would have to "work" at not having fun there. There is something going on every night if you partake. I went to the BYU game and ECU was rocking before/during and after the game. (with a loss downtown Greenville was still having fun that night)
