Black end zones. Players can decide what helmet style they prefer.

Blacked out end zones
Or
The White block A the we're used to on the helmet
For me it's the white block A on the helmet.

Re: Black endzones or white block A on the helmet...
I might be overthinking the end zones. Have been a fan of black end zones because its all I ever knew prior to the current design. Does anyone think that the wording that is centered in the middle of the end zone may help our branding/marketing considering you can see the schools name in one camera shot compared to APPALACHIAN or MOUNTAINEERS encompassing the width of the field?
As far as helmets, it has been a trend with new coaches that helmets deisgns also change. I think the black block A looks better because we have less white in our current unis compared to years past. The white block A really looked good when we had APPALACHIAN across the chest in white on our home jerseys. I like our current threads and helmet.

My only issue with the black A is that you can't see it unless you're up close (either on TV or in person). The white A is instantly recognizable to everyone.

I wouldn't mind seeing APP STATE in the end zone. The black/white/yellow contrast is best for instant readability though I see your point on the camera shot.bigCasu wrote:I might be overthinking the end zones. Call me crazy but when the new turf was put down I didn't even notice the end zones weren't black anymore until I saw it on this board. I haven't missed a home game in years so maybe I should have seen it. I was just there to watch football. Or maybe it shows my powers of observation stink! Honestly as long as we keep putting the ball in the end zone I don't care what color they are.

The end zones were green for at least a period of time prior to the 1995 turf installation. The "Appalachian" and "Mountaineers" lettering looked like it was painted in with a .5mm pencil.
The prettiest field was the 1995 field. The gold lettering in the end zones was outlined in white. It was about the only good part of the great stadium reduction project.

I think the previous turf was superior in pretty much every way. I like neither the green end zones, nor the font they chose for "Appalachian State". And the gold on the sidelines doesn't add anything.

I would choose black end zones with APP STATE in one and MOUNTAINEERS in the other.

Black endzones for me.
The new helmets and unis are growing on me. Especially with the gold pants we wore against Idaho. Looked like the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I grew up on black end zones so I'm partial to that. Random question, anyway y'all could ditch the inflatable black tunnel and bring back the long black one with script 'mountaineers' down the side?

Black endzones, yes. APPALACHIAN in one and MOUNTAINEEERS in the other. White block A back on the helmets, matte is fine. The black A is invisible on tv

1) Spend money on more important things.
2) Black endzones if we have no budgetary limits.
3) If you want to be my helmet decal it don't matter if you're black or white.

Changing the helmet decals would cost next to nothing. How much could painting the endzones cost? Not too much?

Principal Skinner: The next item on the agenda. Refilling of fire extinguishers. This is a free service by the fire department.
Parents: NAY!

I would hope that any turf changes would happen the next time it is replaced which would be at no additional cost.
