App needs to get off to a better start defensively than the last 2 games where ULM scored on their first 2 possessions and GaSo on their first. I was at Troy last year for the turnaround game and expect the App train to keep rolling; smother em early and show them what physical play is all about. Troy has improved but not enough to win at a packed Rock on Halloween night.

Doesn't matter for bowls, but might matter for polls.

I will not be surprised if this game has a similar story line as the ULM and GaSo games. Troy scores early, and then manages a garbage time score. I don't think their defense can consistently stop App's offense, and can see Cox, Upshaw and the O-line pounding them into submission.

Trojans - 10

What...I'm advocating safe sex and population control without diseases or weapons! Plus isn't our fan base always clamoring for more corporate sponsorship?

What I expect App to do to Troy Saturday.

Demoralize, Embarrass, Crush, Rout, Shutdown, Carnage, Roll, Manhandle, Pound ... basically all the same things they have been doing all season to other G5 teams.

Not the strongest turn out at Paulson tonight for Georgia Southern not State vs Texas State not Christian. Maybe 2/3 full (and that's generous).

Woody makes some impressive adjustments after they scare us on their first drive. Taylor has a great day and Cox with another 100 yard game. We match last year's score to celebrate our one year anniversary of Sun Belt domination.

I know it's not part of the prediction thread but since diesel brought it up in here I took a look at the A-State game sales. We might want to hold off saying anything about their crowd just yet. I'm sure the students will turn out in full force again but, unless the computers are wrong (one can hope), there are A LOT of seats left. I'm sure we'll sell more but given it's less than a week away we've got a lot of work to do.

I had questioned on another thread whether we needed to go for some style points- translation, keep the pedal to the medal. Someone said that for bowl purposes it doesn't matter. I am not sold on that theory. After we beat GSU on national television we all of a sudden got top 25 votes. Was that because we were seen? That being said, now that we are on the radar do we need to really make statements whenever possible in order to really try to climb in the polls? Could ranking make a real difference in a few weeks if there has to be a decision made between similar teams for other bowl consideration?

That was me - the second part of my post was that it could potentially matter for polls, so we agree there.

Being ranked could make us more attractive to bowls, but ultimately (with apologies to asucrutch) we're going to be in one of the four Sun Belt bowls, and there's no real consensus on which of those would be most preferable.

I think we got Top 25 votes because we were on the television without a lot of competition. The 190,000 viewers that watched the game are certainly more than watch it online via ESPN3. That number is up from 156,000 viewers last year for App/GS. I don't think a touchdown in fourth quarter matters, but touchdowns in the first half do. I bet a lot of people turned the channel away from Clem/Mia last weekend at halftime, if not before. We could beat Troy by 50, and I guarantee we lose those votes to someone who was on the television Thu Night.
