Agreed. I would agree to go there 3 times if they come to us first but I have no desire to go there if we can't get just one game in Boone. We really need to get some P4 schools to Boone and big names in G5 like Boise, Memphis, ECU, etc. type games to keep selling out every week when we add more seats. Paying 50 bucks to see us play ULM or a FCS is just not worth it to the casual fans in town and the area we want to attract. People like us are going to show up no matter who we play but I want to see our average increase and bring in more fans. Honestly with how our ticket people and parking have done I can see some fans just stay home if we don't play good teams because it is easy to watch our games on TV now. We need good attractions.

Who the Hell is NC State??? When your talking football....just who are they? They haven't accomplished much in like forever. Always discussed locally with plenty potential as a top tier ACC program that never reaches said potentials. What have they won other than having above .500 seasons consistently? What high level p4 team is coming to Boone where we could charge $90 to $100 a ticket, excluding EasyU.... which I do not believe we charged that much if I remember.

Actually it is out of N.C.State's control. This is a mandate from the top of the ACC to improve the overall perception of being a big time football conference. The reality is this, the media is actually driving this perception. I have never understood why it is ok to blow out a team in the autonomous schools and that is a game people want to see, but a close game against a non-autonomous school is awful and lord help us a close game against an FCS school.

We see it, because we live it.

It is interesting to see how all of the non-autonomous conferences and to a certain degree the autonomous conferences wanting to do or realign with schools that are to the advantage of their school. Why would you not? I mean I do not know if I had even heard of the Sun Belt before we joined the the Sun Belt. However, the Sun Belt was left for dead and it survived, just like the Big XII was left for dead and it has survived, while no one thought the PAC 12 would now be the PAC 2.

I just do not see UNC-Ch joining or forming a conference that it cannot control. I just do not see them becoming a part of the Big 10 or SEC and I do not see them ever allowing ECU, UNC-C, APP or anyone else joining the same conference that UNC-Ch is a member.

When the SEC was formed out of the Southern Conference, I am sure it had something to do with what UNC-Ch wanted or did not want. The ACC was certainly formed, as a result of what UNC-Ch wanted.

Ecu is a g5, but I’m not suggesting that it be a h/h but only if we’re doing a buy game, might as well make it against a high level p2 team who pays 1.8MM+ vs Ncst. Honesty id do it for less just to put Ncst in the same lurch they put us

No, they weren't. That same "rule" was in place in 2020 when Wake started ducking us. But, State signed the contract in 2022. So either State or Wake is lying. It's State.

It's not a rule. It's a suggestion. The same suggestions that have been made since before COVID but all contracts were still signed.

State is just scared -- plain and simple. They are saying they canceled to increase CFP rankings, but UVA (team they replaced us with) has ranked above App just once since we've moved up. That was in 2018 with arguably their best team ever and they were only ranked 2 spots ahead of us.

Playing UVa does not help their CFP rankings. If anything, it's even but UVA isn't an instate g5 team.

Playing the easier team and less likely to lose is all it is.

I think there’s some confusion on this.

The schools run the conference, not the other way around. The executive committee makes all the real decisions and it’s made up of the university presidents.


Unless it’s in the bylaws, the Acc higher ups can’t “make” nc st do anything.
