With the one CFP spot for g5 or g7....more "G" games are going to be important and must see games. IE JMU, Liberty, Boise St., Wyoming.

Re: NC State scared
They are not coming nor will they ever in my opinion unless they're forced to. Sad. The state of College football. FSU goes undefeated last year and doesn't make the playoffs. Do you honestly think Cal is a better football program than we are? It's all about ratings and money.

Re: NC State scared
They still show future away games against La.Tech, ECU, Troy, and Charlotte. Based in this, it sounds to me like he is throwing the ACC under the bus. There is some straight up politicking going on. Either way, State isn’t “scared” to play us.

Re: NC State scared
So if they aren’t scared to play us, then they will be cancelling games against ECU and Troy in 2028. If they become known for not honoring away game commitments, then G5’s may be reluctant to enter these home and home series with them. Then they’ll be stuck playing more Campbell, NC A&T, and Western Carolina, or they will be paying G5’s more to come to Raleigh. So either their resume will take a hit or they will be having to front more money. Plus, they will gain a reputation of being scared to play G5 teams away.

Thinking they will be stuck playing the Campbells of football or paying G5's more is not seeing the long picture. The long plan is to not play either of them at all.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2024 8:09 amSo if they aren’t scared to play us, then they will be cancelling games against ECU and Troy in 2028. Re: NC State scared
I’m not sure if the ACC can force State to not play App on the road.
However, it doesn’t really matter.
Neither State or the ACC want to play App in Boone. They know it’s a tough game and if they lose, their season is done.
I don’t think they’re afraid in the classic sense of the word, but it’s a risk that they would prefer to avoid.

Agree. The ACC is 3-0 in Boone in the last 10 years so I don’t think they view it an an insurmountable obstacle.KentHogan wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2024 11:50 amI’m not sure if the ACC can force State to not play App on the road.

Re: NC State scared
Does anyone know how much money we will now be getting to play at NC State? Since they backed out of our home game, I would hope they are paying us at least $1.5 million. If not, I say cancel the game in Raleigh and be done with it. Who cares about them and the rest of the ACC for that matter?

Re: NC State scared
This is my best guess. 1. There is something in the contract that spells out what the cancellation is OR 2. We need to take whatever we can get. Money now is the driving force and our cup do not runith over. Everything now takes a back seat to money.TractorApp wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2024 12:17 pmDoes anyone know how much money we will now be getting to play at NC State? Re: NC State scared
My estimate is that we sell 25,000 tickets at least to this game at $100/each so these clowns cost us probably $1.75 million after what I think is a $750k buyout clause. Why should we ever trust them again?bcoach wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2024 3:32 pmThis is my best guess. 1. There is something in the contract that spells out what the cancellation is OR 2. No other school would suffer more both on and off the field than NCSU if they lost to us...They know this and that's why the cancelled our game under the guise of helping the ACC.

Re: NC State scared
100%. What I find is funny is that we don't have a P4 win in Boone and have won all of those games on the road. You would think these schools would see that and rather come to Boone, which sounds weird. A lot of us aren't big on FCS games for the same reason they aren't big on playing us. Embarrassment if you lose and gain nothing by winning.kornegaylw wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2024 7:29 pm

I said it on page 3, and I'll say it again. I just don't care, win the damn conference. 9 pages of insecurity. The last conference chip was in 2019. We play At Marshall, At chicken shits, and At Stink.

Re: NC State scared
Afraid defined:
- unwilling or reluctant to do something for fear of the consequences
- worried that something undesirable will occur or be done
Looks like they are by definition afraid.

It was 7.5 at most sites when they first came out. I got a couple bets in at that line.appdaze wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 12:33 amI said it on page 3, and I'll say it again. Re: NC State scared
They aren’t afraid. They aren’t scared. They made a business decision that was in their best interest. I think some of you enjoy shaming others to make yourselves feel better.
