I like it. Can't wait to hear the other teams.

Re: Huge scheduling news coming
It's regional and for purely economic reasons, I guess it's good, but ODU really does not move my needle and I wouldn't categorize it as "huge." I hope the other announcement is more exciting or I'd say this was a bit overhyped according to the thread title.
Re: Huge scheduling news coming
ODU is a no brainer, would have been surprised if they weren't one of the teams. Excitement factor, eh.. I get it, just doesn't move the excitement needle for me.

Re: Huge scheduling news coming
True story. I e-mailed ODU's beat writer Harry Minium this morning after seeing their VT series and asked if they were our 2015-16 C-USA team just out of curiosity. I think I set those wheels in motion.

I'm thrilled with the ODU matchup. It's in a recruiting hotbed, and a similarly-situated school to App State. If the other CUSA team is ECU then it's a home run. If it's UNCC, then I'll be disappointed--and I live in Charlotte.

Re: Huge scheduling news coming
I like this. Makes sense for all the reasons already named, also probably beneficial as both schools will be in basically the same state in the transition process.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but only one of these series begins next year right? So doesn't that leave us with another game to fill for next season? I count 8 SB games, Michigan, Campbell, one of the new home and homes....that adds up to 11 games. Any idea of who will fill the opening?

ECU is no longer in CUSA after this year. I don't think it will be UNCc either. maybe Marshall or MTSU or WKUASUMountaineer wrote:I'm thrilled with the ODU matchup. You are missing the point. Of course it will change nothing but perhaps - just perhaps "rehashing past mistakes" might set off a light bulb in someone's mind the next time facilities are considered. Its called planting the seed. Believe me those folks read this message board.WVAPPeer wrote:"Failing to recognize what?" - no official party asked me for input on stadium enhancements/expansion - how about the rest of you guys? - Did they meet with you? --- I'm saying all that happened 5,6,7 years ago is totally out of OUR (mmb) hands - What we recognize/didn't recognize means virtually nothing - WE ARE WHERE WE ARE TODAY - rehashing what some consider mistakes from 5,6,7 years ago changes nothing - LET'S MOVE FORWARD FROM HERE ---Kgfish wrote:"what transpired 6 years ago has no relevance - KBS is what it is, not what it should have been " imo that's a classic example of failing to recognize.WVAPPeer wrote:Never said anything about "not recognizing" history - I said "fretting" about it --- I can't think of anything that hasn't been "recognized" on this board ---Kgfish wrote:As the old saying goes - those who fail to recognize history are doomed to repeat it. The continuing saga of spending dollars for mis-matched, patch work additions has been going on since 1979. No two sides of that facility looks the same. The opportunity make 3 at least sides somewhat symmetrical exists and it would be sad to see it wasted.WVAPPeer wrote:Some of you guys spend way too much time fretting over what was/wasn't done 5,6,7 years ago - it serves no purpose to keep talking about missed recruiting opportunities, bad coaches, etc. - our team is what it is today and what it will be Saturday and what it will be next season - what transpired 6 years ago has no relevance - KBS is what it is, not what it should have been - it just seems more practical to discuss where we go from here ---
A great deal has changed since 2007 - most have been very positive changes ---

Kudos to Jay Sutton. A very good start. Hope it grows into a regular series.mtnjax wrote:ODU in 2015-2016 per twitter

Re: Huge scheduling news coming
The 2014-15 C-USA team isn't Charlotte as their schedule is filled. It's either ECU or MTSU.
The 12th game will be an FCSer just because there's no options.

Re: Huge scheduling news coming
Why would they? We seat 23K, they see themselves as far superior to us, they are moving up in there minds next year, they stomped the heels this year which further stokes their ego, they will probably whip another ACC team this year. So there's a few reasons why not. Now you convince me they might consider coming to Boone. I have been wrong many times in the past.bcoach wrote:Why?appbio91 wrote:It's MTSU then. If it's MTSU, that means they will have 5 home games in 2015.
ECU, on the other hand, fits in perfectly.
If we were discussing a game in Charlotte as an FCS program, they'll come to Boone when we're an FBS team. Our administrations get along great.
