I like that idea as wellBoone Goon wrote:Any of the MAC teams are fine. But I'd like to see us get one of the G5 Florida teams in a H &H.yosef13 wrote:I don't think South Carolina is happening.
The fact is we need one more OOC road game in 2019. UNC is in the books. Doug's model appears to be one P5 and one G5 for OOC road games. Assuming it's a G5 we need to finalized 2019, who else would you want?

I agree a H&H with UCF or USF would be good for many reasons.

Definately see the benefit of that. What ever happens with the 2019 schedule, I imagine we"ll hear something soon.MtnDevil95 wrote:I agree a H&H with UCF or USF would be good for many reasons.

Re: South Carolina drops ECU 2019....
No to a money game with ECU. I agree DG could add a H&H to the already existing 1-1-1 deal with ECU which was my first thought when I saw USCe had cancelled the game with the Pirates. If DG can't land the Pirates, how about UAB H&H? The Blazers have a opening for a home game in '19 and could travel to Boone in '20.yosef13 wrote:So South Carolina just dropped their game at ECU in 2019. We still need a road OOC game in 2019. Would this be something you would consider, even with our series agreement? If we did this, it would be 5 games, 1 in Boone, 1 in Charlotte, 3 in Greenville. It would be lopsided, but it would give us 2019 OOC games in Greenville and Chapel Hill. That is hard to beat.
It's not a 2 for 1 even if they announced it that way. It's a H&H with UNC paying App for the additional home game. App may not be making as much money off the additional game in Chapel Hill but I believe that, assuming KBS has added a few more seats by the time baby blue rolls into town, the additional tickets sold in KBS will offset the difference and make it a wash./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote:Man....Hell No. I didn't agree with the 2 for 1 with UNC but eventually accepted it because it is a P5 who has been decent in recent years. No way in hell would I be cool with ECU getting 3 games at home.

I'd shoot for a fairly close G5 H&H for 2019 (A) and 2020 (H), someone like MTSU or UAB who both have openings.

Re: South Carolina drops ECU 2019....
Zero interest in a money game with ECU. Forget "precedent" - they simply can't pay us as much as a P5 would.
If they want to add another H&H to the existing series (@ECU in '19, @App in say '23), that would be worth discussing. But I don't necessarily think we need to play them every year, so I'd be just as happy looking elsewhere to fill those spots. In fact I'd probably prefer it.
I don't think we're in any giant rush to fill that '19 road spot. I imagine there are still numerous teams who need a home game that year, whether it's a P5 money game or a G5 H&H (or a P5 H&H). Plus, things always fall through and P5 teams wind up scrambling late to fill an opening.

For 2019, I would be good with a visit to MTSU, WKU, South Florida, or UCF, with a scheduled return visit to us in 2020. Additionally, if we could get a home and home signed with KY, Vandy, Georgia Tech or Duke, I would be good with that as well.

The more this is discussed, the more I agree. We have a nice series in the books, so why not look elsewhere. I do like the idea of USF and UCF H&H. I think we've had enough of the MAC for a little while. Only thing that gets me excited about CUSA right now other than what we have inked is WKU, MIddle, or LaTech. I could do most of the AAC. Navy would be cool.EastHallApp wrote:Zero interest in a money game with ECU. Forget "precedent" - they simply can't pay us as much as a P5 would.

Aligning with what our coaches and AD have been saying, I'd prefer a H&H G5 series with a team inside of our recruiting footprint and driving distance for majority of the fan base. Exceptions would be for those perennial top tier G5 schools (Houston, Navy, etc.).

I would laugh so hard if we signed a H&H with Vandy considering those fly swatters down in Statesboro tried dogging them with a social media campaign...then Georgia State signed them.
to DG is he pulled that off.

Just checked fbschedules.com, and it looks like Vandy needs a road game in 2019. We could dump ETSU.APPdiesel wrote:I would laugh so hard if we signed a H&H with Vandy considering those fly swatters down in Statesboro tried dogging them with a social media campaign...then Georgia State signed them.![]()

In my previous post, I was trying to be a bit vague. Unfortunately, I was too vague. Let me try again:AppGrad78 wrote:The last I heard, South Carolina isn't interested in doing a home-and-home with us. But Bank of America Stadium could be in play.
The last I heard from a high-ranking ASU athletics official, South Carolina isn't interested in doing a home-and-home with us. But the Gamecocks are interested in a series with us. Bank of America Stadium could possibly be our home game with South Carolina.

I think it's safe to assume we'd all prefer to have the Gamecocks climb the mountain, but a Columbia and BofA Stadium series is a decent back-up option in my opinion.

Re: South Carolina drops ECU 2019....
I hope our administration is being careful about setting the BoA precedent. Clearly RIGHT NOW Kidd Brewer doesn't have the stadium capacity to host some teams. I would *hope* any BoA option would be a three game slate giving us time to increase. Don't want teams sticking their noses up in the air towards Boone and thinking they can bend us over a barrel, forcing us into BoA in lieu of Boone.

The first ECU game MUST be at BOA...otherwise ticket sales will suffer.
I want whatever DG says we should do in 2019.

Home and home with Boise State in 2019 and 2020. The open dates work well for both teams each year and it creates competitive balance for both teams' non-conference schedules. This would be an excellent, high profile G5 series.

No way on Rick pulling off the same things! I do like the idea of adjusting the first game of the ECU series up from 2021 to 2019. Don't think we'll get a H&H with South Carolina so I'd love to focus on getting a H&H with another P5. Virginia has 3 open dates in 2019. They need two home games.
