94, that early weather should not be an issue, but was told the highways from Wash. state close pretty quick.

It's not that bad. I drove an RV through Idaho in the snow in December. They are quick to respond to weather.

We should be able to put a whipping on the Grizzlies this time as the Griz program is somewhat down from most of the past couple decades even though the game is in their hostile stadium; providing our opinion of Satterfield's leadership, experiences, and skills pan out. Of course anything could happen between now and then. For example, we seem to have most of our marbles in one basket in terms of Jamal's being injury free. Lordy knows how much we need Price's skills this season.

Just booked Friday and Saturday night at the Comfort Inn. Looks to be accross the river from the University. Hope to be able to convert room to points as we get closer. For flying out of Greenville/Spartanburg, Southwest to Spokane looks to be the best option at under $500 round trip/person. Very excited.

Montana will NOT be a pushover. Their QB will have another year of experience and playing the first game against a very young defense. I expect a shoot out.

Could be. A lot depends on home cooking. As you said to me just the other day (I think it was you) something to the effect that I could predict what a certain stock would be next week. If it wasn't you, it was one of the other antagonists of mine. ;)
Citadel was supposed to be a pushover last season wasn't it?
FWIW, our own QB, Jamal Jackson will have another year of experience, too, as well as his back ups.

With a new HC, new DC, new QB coach, and a ton of new starters on D it will be anything but easy. We should have more talent, but getting all of that to come together in game 1 won't be easy. I'm expecting another close game in the App State vs Montana series.

Similar problem as last season, we had several new coaches and had graduated a few key and/or role players which arguably may have led to some of our inconsistent performance. So all of a sudden we have that problem this season :?: ;)

The game is on the road at a place where we have yet to win.

I didn't say anything about our offense, in fact I said I expect a shoot out.

Montana is like GSU, I never expect an easy win.

Hopefully I'll see a lot of you out there. Flying into Jackson Hole Wednesday, couple days in Yellowstone and then the game. Following App football has allowed me to see quite a bit of the US I otherwise may not have.

True, but we have had a few close games. One in the play-offs several years back when it came down to one missed pass with seconds left on the clock. In fact, if my source is correct, our margin is only -2 points difference over all the games we have played them. (68-70)

And we barely beat a bad Montana team at home. So expect another close game.

Greetings to the Mountaineer Nation and a belated thank you to the App fans who made my trip to Boone so enjoyable. Boone goes right up by the top of my list of favorite road trip destinations and we get to enjoy regular road trips to the California and Oregon wine country. I have been in Vegas the last 11 years but still have my 50 yard line seats in Missoula and use them regularly. Located here in Vegas I also get to most road games. When I posted on your board last year I got some great hiking suggestions. I owe you folks the same courtesy. I lived in Kalispell and have hiked almost every trail in Glacier Park. Some of you indicated a desire to visit Glacier. Great idea. appgrunt 71 I suggest a day hike from Logan Pass along the Garden Wall and in to Granite Park Chalet and then down to the Loop(alocation on the Going to the Sun road). I would suggest an early start as you looking at about 12 miles of hiking. That time of year I would suggest a night stay at the Many Glacier Lodge. Chances of seeing the mighty grizzly bear are high as they graze on berries on the hillside north of the Lodge. Also a good chance 0f seing them along the road on the way out in the early morning. Take your field glasses. Any of you fine fans who are interested in hiking can e-mail me at vegasgrizzly@gmail.com. I can give you seveal hiking ideas for Glacier. I was stationed in Cherry Point in 62 and 63 but never made it over to the west side of the state. I fell in love with the Smokies and thoroughly enjoyed my trip. I will be back. Thank you for your hospitality. I flew into Charlotte and spent 4 days working my way to Boone. Great trip but I did not get to Boone unti about 4 hours before game time and had to leave right after the game for an early flight the next morning. Loved the game atmosphere.tks.

I finally have something to report. My trip schedule is kinda convoluted. This will be our big vacation for the year, so convenience and ease is very important. We depart from Greensboro at 6am on August 30th to Missoula with two stops, arriving in Missoula at about 12:33pm, an 8+ hour trip. We're staying at the Holiday Inn, downtown, through Sunday morning. We pick up our rental car on Sunday and head to Glacier National Park. We'll be staying three nights at the Lake McDonald Lodge. Please note that Many Glacier was already booked, and we were lucky enough to get the last room at Lake McDonald. We hope to get in at least one guided day long hike and a couple half day hikes, combined with some other tours. Wednesday afternoon we return to Missoula where we spend the night. On Thursday, September 5th, we return the rental car and depart for Greensboro at about 10:57am, arriving in Greensboro around 9:46pm. I tell ya, my wife and I are so "fired up" about this trip. Missoula, the Montana fans, the football game - wow! And, then Glacier - we're on cloud nine.

Charlotte to Helena under $400 round trip. Also, booked a house for 6 people, $200 per night.
Cannot wait, this is going to be great!

What will be the best way to get tickets to this game? I am not a season ticket holder, but I know that the ticket office will sometimes have extra tickets to the away games.

Just call the ticket office when tickets go on sale. We had about 500 there in 2009. You shouldn't have a problem getting a ticket.

It will be interesting to see how many fans we bring.

We like to claim we'd bring 1,000s to Frisco if we made the national championship, but if we only bring 500 to Montana (especially given a year to plan) I have a hard time believing that.
