Honestly, I hope that the team still has that bitter taste of overcooked Eagle poached in the mosquito infested water in their mouth. Not that they were overlooking Southern (primary cause of the loss was Fehr and Thomas), but they now know what losing a game can do when you get too high on your own success. Focus on finishing here has to be the goal and I think Drinkwitz will have a good idea of how to shield the team, as much as a coach can, from the outside noise.

I agree with your thinking. I’m not sure how we get into the AAC, nor do I think we align with their schools well, but that’s the next logical step if we were able to pull it off.ericsaid wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 4:24 pmThe Sun Belt has been better than C-USA and all but one year of the MAC since 2015...
Sans some sort of cataclysmic realignment, the AAC is our only pathway to long term national relevance. I really do like the Sunbelt and I think it can be the 2nd best G5 conference long term, but we will still be on the outside looking in. If this is our home, so be it, I’m fine with that.
The AAC has one foot in the door and is wedging it’s face through like some sort of college football version of the Shining.
Side note: living in Washington, I can’t help but think we can become the Wazzu of the east coast (minus the “couged it” label). We share a bizarre number of similarities including general remoteness from major metro areas.
