Southern is one of the best at stopping the run in the Sun Belt. The wheels come off, and this crummy season finishes with a garbage Cherry on top.

I see GS converting many third and forever's with Shai at QB.
As for the outcome, N.P.

Re: Official Gnatsboro prediction thread
As I have said since the first game if we play to our potential we win going away. If however, we continue to play sloppy, turn the ball over and have excessive penalties it will be another long day in Statesboro. I truly have little confidence that we play any better than I have seen all season but at the same time this is such a huge rivalry game that I can't imagine us not playing our best against them this year. I could see this game go any way, just hoping this team rises up and plays like we are capable.

Re: Official Gnatsboro prediction thread
Personally, I think the whole "Lunsford has had our number" thing (heard others saying the same so don't mean to single you out) is overstated. Two years in a row, App has beaten ourselves. There has been nothing about either game that indicates a brilliant coaching job by Lunsford or GS. They will do what they do, and if we show up and play like we SHOULD play, we will win. If we show phone it in, we will likely let them take a third game in a row. I don't believe that Clark, Zac and this team will let that happen....at least I hope not.Longrifle28 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 8:52 amWhich defense can make more stops? Lunsford has had our number the last few years. His team has played physical, they made us one dimensional, and weather and personnel played a factor. I like the fact that we rarely lose twice in a row, and how we have fared against common opponents compared to them. Based on the questions above though, still not completely confident in our ability to go into Statesboro and have the mental and physical toughness, or the personnel to win this game. Please prove me wrong....

Re: Official Gnatsboro prediction thread
I also stated that weather and personnel played a factor. However, we've been favored both years. We've looked out of sync both games and I think a lot of that had to do with the physicality by Georgia Southern. Lunsford knows what a battle this game is and has his team ready to give it to us for 60 minutes. If we don't show up with the same physicality, with the mentality that this is going to be a dogfight, and be prepared to go at it until its over with, we will get beat. Us just showing up and doing what we do because we think we have better players will NOT win this game. As you can tell, I don't think this game is just about superior athletes and playcalling. There's a mentality to this game and we need to be mentally prepared to get their best, most physical shot, and then give it right back to them. If we can do this, and limit penalties, special teams gaffs, and turnovers, we will have a shot.Yosef84 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 1:21 pmPersonally, I think the whole "Lunsford has had our number" thing (heard others saying the same so don't mean to single you out) is overstated. Re: Official Gnatsboro prediction thread
Ga Southern looked strong in their win over FAU and we couldn’t do anything at home against Louisiana.
I’d like to win but much like Costal and Louisiana, I don’t believe we will because we can’t put a full game together.
I foresee another ugly game where we have trouble moving the ball.

I don’t know that any of us should be playing the “look at their record” game. Our best win is over 5-4 Georgia State.WataugaMan wrote: ↑Sat Dec 12, 2020 8:28 am"Ga Southern looked strong in their win over FAU"

All records are out the window today though. Hope we can get it done!
