You are going to see lots of "Chemistry" problems going forward with FBS football. It will affect us as well, but a p5 team with a whole new lineup may have problems with their first game of the year. Give me the biggest name p5 on the road and let the chips fall where they fall.
P.S. I have always looked at our p5 road game as our bowl game.

Judging from Liberty's easy schedule to go undefeated and then make an NY6 bowl, I wouldn't be upset if App went that route if it ensured an NY6 bowl. No need to make things more difficult than they need to be if you want to play on New Year's.

Re: South Carolina State to open 2026 football schedule
Apparently there are 2 schools of thought on scheduling and post season opportunities. One of the absolute worst and boring games I attended in the last few years was the Citadel. Sitting through that 3rd quarter watching them chew up about 12 minutes on a drive, making no effort to rally was excruciating. By contrast the ECU and UNC games were fun and included all of the buildup and trash talking. While it would be great any year to play in the NY6 or even the playoffs I'd hate to see a crappy schedule simply to MAYBE win enough games to MAYBE reach that game. I'll take fun and challenging games every time.
