According to Coach Lamb in his press conference, ETSU does not have the tablets or the helmet comms.T-Dog wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 8:39 amOne interesting thing to me is out of all the assistants, only Ponce will be upstairs. I'm sure analysts and such will be up there as well, but all five defensive assistants will be on the sidelines.
Maybe it has something to do with tablets now allowed on the sideline, so coaches can show film to the guys.
I bet with the sun glare this time of year, ETSU has trouble with players seeing plays on their tablets.

interesting- does that mean we can't use them either or do we just get a competitive advantage?AppSt94 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 8:46 amAccording to Coach Lamb in his press conference, ETSU does not have the tablets or the helmet comms.T-Dog wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 8:39 amOne interesting thing to me is out of all the assistants, only Ponce will be upstairs. I would think and hope that if they elect not to provide a piece of equipment that is legal, that would not rule out its use for us.

Also, impressed to see Anderson Castle as the possible starter at RB. We have a really great situation at that position.

yeah I would think also, but you never know when someone will have a "fairness" clause or something. For instance, the USMNT can't use VAR for confederation games in the US because some of the smaller poorer nations in our confederation cannot afford VAR technology.TractorApp wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 9:02 amI would think and hope that if they elect not to provide a piece of equipment that is legal, that would not rule out its use for us.

Without knowing why they don’t have them I would say no. Now if they both used them and one didn’t work, then I could see the other team having to cease operations.BallantyneApp wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 8:50 aminteresting- does that mean we can't use them either or do we just get a competitive advantage?AppSt94 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 8:46 amAccording to Coach Lamb in his press conference, ETSU does not have the tablets or the helmet comms.T-Dog wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 8:39 amOne interesting thing to me is out of all the assistants, only Ponce will be upstairs. "Teams don’t need to agree on using this communication in a game. Any FBS team can use it, even if their opponent is not. Conferences will likely set their own rules on what to do if one team’s communications go down, similar to the NFL, NCAA coordinator of officials Steve Shaw said."AppSt94 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 10:28 amWithout knowing why they don’t have them I would say no. Re: ETSU Game Thread and discussion
I want to see our team come storming out of the gate fast and hard, throwing darts and running downhill on their defense. I want our defense to be ultra aggressive and playing with speed and nasty coverage. All Start to Finish. Every player getting into the game should be rolling.

Re: ETSU Game Thread and discussion
Since ETSU, I prefer we are able to win by 28 or so with base offense and base defense. Basically show nothing to future opponents.

I was thinking the same thing. Will probably be a very vanilla game unless we were to get into a bind.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 11:17 amSince ETSU, I prefer we are able to win by 28 or so with base offense and base defense. Basically show nothing to future opponents.

Re: ETSU Game Thread and discussion
One guy at 295lb on the front 5 depth chart, need to get him in the BI or the Gold Room so we can list him at 300, the days fo the 6'1" - 265 lineman have disappeared through the Portal.
Some of you may fondly or not so fondly remember the Gold Room and Barvarian Inn back in the day.
