Great way to end FCS!

Words can't express how happy I am with the game today. As most know it's very personal to me. The thought of part of my family history and of App history (the school I love) being in the Whee for who knows how long made this a long week for me. My mother passed away just a few years after painting the Jug, while I was in high school, and dad just two years ago. I don't have many family members left and only a couple from the time when that jug was being used. A huge thank you to the team and coaching staff on the big win today and for keeping our Old Mountain Jug exactly where it's supposed to be.

Glad things turned out for you firemoose. I thought about the jug as we were going up the mountain yesterday and I was hoping it would stay in its rightful place.

I hate, absolutely despise WCU and having an App connection does not change that. I really wish we would have stomped their asses harder today.

Don't have an issue with what Spier said. Considering we have beaten them 27 out of 29 with the same number of schollies, why would they come to Boone with us having 22 more? If you are going to get pummeled might as well do it for $500K not $150K.

The P5 are the 5 Power "BCS" conferences. Big 10, Big 12, PAC-12, SEC, ACC
The G5 are the non "BCS" FBS conferences. AAC (some of the FB playing parts of the Big East) MWC, Mac, C-USA and SB.

Then there are 12 FCS conferences that sponsor football at the D-1 FCS level (SoCon, MVFC, CAA, Ivy, MEAC, SWAC, NEC, Patriot, Big Sky, Pioneer, Southland, OVC). Some of these could be further divided. Some give scholly and some don't, and some give more than zero but not the max number FCS allows for schooly. Some are part of the playoffs and some are not. I think all 12 would get an auto bid if they chose to use it. (Ivy and SWAC pass on the playoffs.)

Then there are about 10 D-I conferences that don't sponsor football (ASun and now the Big East are two examples.)

I was taking a break from being outside and trying to warm up a bit. I was having a hard time typing to be honest with cold fingers, but the more I typed the warmer I was getting so I kept typing. Of course now I ducked in for supper and wish I had that time back as it is dark outside now and I need about 20 more minutes of light to finish up.

If anything it was about the state of WCU football as much as anything. Spier said something about money and DJ joked back about having Speir do something to help and "then join the Yosef Club" (as a way to get the money raised.)

Just an honest statement that was a bit surprising to hear only in that it was 100% honest with no spin, and no need to twist around - at least in my view.

either way, I wanted 70+ on them b/c

a) they're Western
b) to show those coaches who went over there that we are MUCH better off without their ineptness in certain areas

That's interesting, Trey Elder was one of the most respected, by fans on this board, of all the assistants we've had at App and was one of the most popular players of the modern era. In fact, there was a ton of MMB'ers who thought that Trey should have been the starter over Armanti Edwards in AE's freshman year.

All of that just makes him one of Moore's homers. Nothing on his resume qualified him to be a receiver coach. BTW his TD run late in the 2007 NC game is one of my favorite memories so not bashing him as a Mountaineer as he is one of the finest.

When you are in the situation you are in like at Western I am not sure how else to sound. Not much to say that would not be arrogant or jealous, or a tool maybe. I just appreciate the fact that both DJ and Spier were honest about it and not trying to spin something.
