Reading that board just has me laughing, especially at their griping about Glenn/playcalling. now they know the pain we endured from 2009-2011 with the same old predictability of dive plays and back to back to back WR screens

Cline..I used to think that you just liked to stir the pot and play devils advocate, however... Your statements show that you have the brains God gave a head of lettuce. Do us all a favor and just stay over on the CCC boards. Your comments truly made me sick.....WCU more scenic than ASU? You're out youre damn mind.JCline0429 wrote:I was referring to "scenic" not facilities, buildings, etc. I love ASU's campus more than any other I have ever visited including a couple of the Ivies. As much as I dislike Elon's fans, I love the architecture on their campus, but I'd much rather be in Boone.appst89 wrote:I deny it wholeheartedly.JCline0429 wrote:With all the development on Howard's knob overlooking Boone, WCU's campus is undeniably the more scenic.Gonzo wrote:Yeah, man. Re: Appalachian has an ugly campus...
What some of you goof balls don't realize is that I am talking about the NATURAL beauty surrounding the campus...the mountains, etc. Had Howard's knob NOT been developed, I would not feel that way and I'm talking about ONLY what can be seen from the campus..
I'm not talking about the Blue Ridge Parkway, which I consider the most beautiful area on the planet, bar none, but it is not seen from campus.

And yet I still disagree wholeheartedly.

Re: Appalachian has an ugly campus...
My wife grew up in Virginia and we've lived our entire adult life together there, so she didn't know much about the various NC schools other than App and UNC-CH. As we were driving up to Boone for the game, I was telling her about WCU, I told her kids go to 'whee when they don't get into App. She didn't really believe me. Behind us in the stands were three Western co-eds and next to them were a few young App guys (recent grads I believe) hitting on them the entire 1st half. Almost immediately the guys asked these girls why they went to Western. Everyone one of them answered that they didn't get into App. My wife just looked at me and laughed.

I spoke with a friend's younger siblings recently and it seems that UNC Charlotte has replaced WCU as the most popular backup school for kids who don't get in to Appalachian.

Re: Appalachian has an ugly campus...
Yeah I guess it is ugly. That explains why over 27000 come to the campus on the coldest night of the year to see a 3-8 team play. That's also why 15000 high school seniors apply for only 1800 open spots in each year's freshman class. I'm sure that Kullowhee Kittie Kollege has at least 30000 for a home game and many more than 15000 apply for admission to their lovely mud puddle beside NC Hiway 107.
Saturday night I talked to as many WCU fans as I could to tell them how much I would miss the rivalry. All were gracisous and said they would miss us too. I guess I didn't talk to the sore loser grump from Haywood county...and I'm glad I did.

Who really cares about WCU anyway. They are dead to me and Saturday's beatdown was a perfect end to any relationship with the Cants.

The only reason I would support playing them against is because so many of their fans have vowed to stop supporting the school is we do.JCline0429 wrote:If Cobb stays long enough, we will face them again.

Yes, because a dilapidated Frat House with half a goal post in the yard looks so much better than $500,000 houses on the ridge.JCline0429 wrote:What some of you goof balls don't realize is that I am talking about the NATURAL beauty surrounding the campus...the mountains, etc. Had Howard's knob NOT been developed, I would not feel that way and I'm talking about ONLY what can be seen from the campus..
