My point is that our last 4 playoff losses were to teams that were much bigger than us in between the trenches (Montana, Villanova, Maine and Illinois State). It's a known fact that FBS teams are even bigger. If you honestly think that we can compete with linemen that consistently range between 270 and 285, you are only kidding yourselves. Speed is great, but when you can't win the war in between the trenches, the results that we've have against these bigger teams will only continue, especially in the FBS world.

If FCS teams are doing this to us, it only confirms that it will only get worst in the FBS world.

This guy reminds me of Micheal Frazier, Big hitter, quick wheels, about the same size too. He seems just as versatile too. Frazier could have been really good on D, just had the bad luck to be behind DJ Smith, Jeremy Kimbrough and so on and so forth. There is no better time to be coming to App as a LB though, plenty of opportunity to make an impact after losing Kimbrough and Grier.

He's supposed to be a special teams beast also at gunner. Now maybe if we leave him on D and don't convert him into a little used short yardage RB then maybe we'll have a quality player. Frazier was (and still is, we just don't see him. Hopefully SS will change that for his SR season).

Reports say he is a MLB. At 6-0 and only 205 he needs to put on about 30 lbs.

He will. That's the beauty of having a strength and conditioning program.

They should put Vinson at OLB, unless this is a sign we're sticking with the 3-4. We already have John Law and Brandon McGowan who are MLB

I've got 30 lbs I'll give him for free, hardly used.

I can buy 15-20 lbs on a 5-11 / 6-0 frame, but 30-35 is asking a bit much to keep speed and quickness. Kimbrough put on roughly 20 lbs and Roman came in at 240.

What you are saying is usually true but Michigan was much bigger on the OL and DL. Of course we had a different line coach at the time and Michigan was not accustomed to the blocking scheme in the spread.

I really like whatI see out of 2 of the possible recruits after looking at their recruiting videos. Rontavius McClure 6'6 has size and speed another PRICE on the team that can play either wide-out or TE hybrid. Can you say a match-up nightmare speed with Jones and Washington, Sumler, Peacock , Size with Price and this kid (wow).

Solomon Jackson (6-2, 235) watched his video some posted and loved the aggressiveness, size, and speed to track down. Very impressed with him he seems to have a way to be in right place along with the fact does not give up on the play. This is the type of player that our Championship runs were built on, might bend but will not break!

MICHAEL JULIAN 6-5 QB 4.56 40 (long shot)! But get a year of learning under Jamal Jackson, and Satterfield. We would have a lot of pieces to the puzzle to make a run for another FCS Title, or a jump to FBS. Either way we would be set.

Satt (understated) knows the importance of the QB...He had a pretty good one at Toledo, and parlayed that into the job at FIU....but boy were they bad at QB by the time he left and came to Boone. It is clear that the QB position in the offense he wants to run is hyper important.....and since he is in charge, I do not think that will be a problem much any more!

I am just curious, when has the QB position been a problem at App? Certainly not in recent memory. I am excited Satt is in charge but lets not all pretend that our team couldn't get it's head out of it's ass for the last 24 years. There we legitimate issues in the last regime but QB play wasn't one of those issues. Most schools would kill to have RW, AE, DP, JJ in the last ten years. All of those QBs excelled in their own way.

believe the original statement was typed because we will need another quality QB after next season. Just like this year, when JJ went out, we had to use our 4th string QB and thank God it worked out well for us. There just isn't any experience behind JJ and that is scary.

Why had they become bad at QB by the time he left?

FIU was bad at QB when he joined, not Toledo was bad when he left. He wasn't with FIU long enough to get "his" kid recruited.
Give 'em hell!
