Did some digging and the staff may have landed the 3-star DL player that was suppose to be apart of the 2010 class. By my count, 9 of the 16 2010 recruits are no longer on the team with only 4 graduating if I'm not mistaken. Add another 2 players from the class to miss a season not due to injury and 1 with an illness/injury.
Picked up via free agency by the High Country All-Stars

If you have a Rivals membership, you really need to read this guys story. He and his family have been through h e double hockey sticks. I hope he is able to take advantage of this opportunity and get his degree. The young man deserves a break.

I agree. Read the story and even if he doesn't play a down for us I want to see this kid get his degree. He is a case study in perseverance. And I like seeing that no one on the former or current staff gave up on him either. Speaks to the kind of man he is and what they saw in him. I've lost both parents to long illnesses, my mother when I was 16-17 and my father last year. Brandon in still going through his family problems and has finally been able to fulfill his dream of attending App. With everything he's been through I just feel he's going to succeed no matter what he does. Thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

I was taking a look at the list of the recruits that haven't committed to us or another school and was interested to see how many of each position there was interest in. So I decided to copy the list to Word and rearrange it by position. I asked our resident recruitment guru, Mr. 78, if I could post it and received his blessing. It makes for an interesting read and I thought some of you might enjoy it. One note. If there is an * beside a name it means a kid was listed at more than one position and I listed them in each position group. Enjoy and I'll try and keep it updated also. One other note. These are only players that haven't committed to us or someone else. 78' has the master list showing all the players.

Zach

You can get to the NFL as a lineman without unnecessary bruising if you come to ASU...and you will redshirt a year. Talk to Daniel Kilgore of the San Fran 49ers! There is no need to go to a meat factory like Clemson!

According to Brian's story on Rivals, he's up to 275...and will be 3 years more mature, with 3 left to play! Not a bad situation for us - mentally and physically mature. We'll have a full grown man of 24-25 by the time he's done!

The 275 lb figure is from his last year at prep school. No current weight on him. He currently has 2 years to play but is working with the NCAA to gain a third year. I really like how he persevered through the tough situations thrown at him during his young life. Even if he doesn't completely get back to his previous level Brandon will be an extremely good influence on the younger players.

Yeah, this looks like a large chunk of the names on our Rivals site. I won't repost names that are already on RIvals, Scout or ESPN unless there is something new to add, but thanks for passing these names along.

I would take QB Julian off an any list for App. With all the BCS attention this kid has.....if we landed him I would attempt a backflip and put down money in Vegas on us beating Michigan in 2014.
Appalachian State, Better than your school since 1899!!!!

I really like how he persevered through the tough situations thrown at him during his young life. Even if he doesn't completely get back to his previous level Brandon will be an extremely good influence on the younger players.
Agree. Yeah - I forget that your 5 year "clock" starts the moment you play your first college game. Hopefully his personal hardships, and being out of school altogether, will help his case for getting what amounts to a sixth year.

top priority for SS is to find atleast 1, hopefully 2, qbs in this recruiting class. Right now, we do not have a backup qb that can run the offfense even close to the same level as JJ.

We need quality quarterbacks coming through the pipeline every year, no doubt. But I was pleasantly surprised with the improvement Kalik Barnes and Kameron Bryant showed during the August scrimmage. No, they weren't ready to challenge Jamal for the No. 1 spot. But if they continue to improve at the same pace, I wouldn't rule either one out of our future plans.

I agree with '78. And JJ isn't exactly Scott's prefered type of QB. We all know he prefers a run every down threat QB. JJ is more along the lines of a Newton type. Pass first, pass second, then run. Don't get me wrong. I think the world of JJ and he will be our QB next season but, even with KB1 and KB2, I know SS is trying to find at least one or two more to get into the pipeline. They tend to get beaten up a bit when he is able to open up the full playbook.
