It was felt by many during his heyday that he (AE) probably could have played QB at a number of FBS programs but to say we would have gone 12-1 or whatever improved record with him is crazy talk.

We are settling! Go get some of these 4 and 5 stars in the portal, and tell some of these older players they have had their shot. Bo Nix or Casey Thompson are there. There is also alot of DBs and Safeties that have to be better than the ones that attempted to play today. Again, if we don't try to get some of these players we are settling.

Really don’t get the bad mouthing of Jones. Our D is what won most of our games this year. Yep today looked bad but it was one game agains an O that wasn’t really stopped by anybody this year. 3 turnovers from the O and a lot of possession given to WK made for a rough day for the D,

Mediocre? There are 27 teams in the entire fbs that have or can win 10 games. That’s top 20%. We’ve lost one bowl game. Find another team

Gotta say I’m not going to miss many of you on this board this off season. We’ve won 10 games and had 4 turnovers today and were in this track meet the whole time. Utilizing a pocket passer in a system that basically leans on a mobile qb. You’d think we were Bama with some of these bs takes. Maybe just maybe we weren’t as good this year as some thought. Maybe we actually over performed. I don’t know about that but I do know y’all don’t know either. But the incessant wining has made visiting this board so unenjoyable. Why would we bring in a pocket passer for a system that relies on mobility? Either we brought in the wrong guy or didn’t run the best offense for his skill set.

After reading so many of these comments its clear we have some fans that aren’t going to be happy and are going to complain unless we lose no more than 1 or maybe 2 games, win the division and conference, and win our bowl by at least 3 TDS EVERY YEAR!! Well, for us thats not realistic and it ain’t happening. We are not Alabama. But we are APP State and that means we have a solid program. It will continue to be solid. We will keep winning a lot more than we lose. We will be conference champs again. We will be bowl winners again.

I find some of y’all’s posts a lot more embarrassing than anything I saw on the field today. We got got by a high-powered offense. We are still in the top tier of G5 programs, and there are only a handful of teams in the SBC, CUSA, or MAC who wouldn’t trade places with us in a heartbeat. There’s room for improvement, sure. But good grief some of our fans are spoiled. Including ones that I KNOW don’t do much to support the team besides posting here and tweeting nonsense.

There is a bunch of chatter on this board about playing AppState football and hiring AppState guys. That is is exactly how Georgia Southern got where they are today; by trying to keep doing the same old thing over and over. "AppState Football" is letting a young coach talk an old coach searching for answers to go visit Rich Rod at WV and learn an innovative new offense. Getting the "old gang back together" never works in anything especially not a game that changes with new innovations and wrinkles annually.

Yeah we should definitely go away from the “App State” brand. Your Ga Southern comparison is hyperbole. We went 10-3 this year. We lost to two good schools to end the season. They doesn’t mean the program is a failure and needs to be blown up and rebuilt.

That’s literally every team’s goal every year. But there are over 130 D1 FBS football teams and only about 30 of them win their conference and/or a NY6 bowl. It is statistically unlikely that a given team will EVER win at that level. You and people who think like you need to get a grip and reestablish yourselves in reality.

We have to produce on the field year in a year out and show promise, or we will progressively lose recruits and disappear from relevance. What's so funny is I am very often been accused as being a negative Nellie or something like that and I do tend to comment on some negative aspects but overall I and many others on here love ASU with all our hearts and wouldn't trade App memories for a pot of gold...but Geez all this bitching and moaning and dissing our players and coaches without any guilt is astounding.
