We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Some of you must have had some traumatized events in your past experiences in life. To throw shade over a post related to our players being outstanding representatives of our university even after a defeat. Sad. Just sad.

There appear to be as many professional psychologists on this Board as there are football coaches.

Championships and New Years 6 Bowls should be the goal every year, not mediocre Division winners and 4 loss seasons.

I think that was the goal of this team. We just were not the best team on the field 3 times this year (and lost one we should not have).trjinc@triad.rr.com wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 7:15 pmChampionships and New Years 6 Bowls should be the goal every year, not mediocre Division winners and 4 loss seasons.

It’s almost comical reading the AE comments. Completely ridiculous analogy especially since there is zero way to know how he would do. It was felt by many during his heyday that he (AE) probably could have played QB at a number of FBS programs but to say we would have gone 12-1 or whatever improved record with him is crazy talk.

Well, I guess I’ll sound like a whiner! We are what our record says we are. (10-4 very good). Beat everyone we should have beaten and beat no one any good.

Re: Game week in Boca
Really don’t get the bad mouthing of Jones. Our D is what won most of our games this year. Yep today looked bad but it was one game agains an O that wasn’t really stopped by anybody this year. 3 turnovers from the O and a lot of possession given to WK made for a rough day for the D,trjinc@triad.rr.com wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 6:53 pmExactly! Agree Completely! This team should have had more success. We need more younger coaches. The talk a couple years ago was Jones wanted to coach a couple more years and retire. Go ahead, it's been a couple years.
We are settling! Go get some of these 4 and 5 stars in the portal, and tell some of these older players they have had their shot. Bo Nix or Casey Thompson are there. There is also alot of DBs and Safeties that have to be better than the ones that attempted to play today. Again, if we don't try to get some of these players we are settling.

Mediocre? There are 27 teams in the entire fbs that have or can win 10 games. That’s top 20%. We’ve lost one bowl game. You’d think we were Bama with some of these bs takes. Maybe just maybe we weren’t as good this year as some thought. Maybe we actually over performed. I don’t know about that but I do know y’all don’t know either. But the incessant wining has made visiting this board so unenjoyable. Merry Christmas you filthy animals.
We had 558 yards of offense today but the offense was the problem?
Re: Game week in Boca
After reading so many of these comments its clear we have some fans that aren’t going to be happy and are going to complain unless we lose no more than 1 or maybe 2 games, win the division and conference, and win our bowl by at least 3 TDS EVERY YEAR!! Well, for us thats not realistic and it ain’t happening. We are not Alabama. But we are APP State and that means we have a solid program. It will continue to be solid. We will keep winning a lot more than we lose. We will be conference champs again. We will be bowl winners again.

Re: Game week in Boca
I find some of y’all’s posts a lot more embarrassing than anything I saw on the field today. We got got by a high-powered offense. We are still in the top tier of G5 programs, and there are only a handful of teams in the SBC, CUSA, or MAC who wouldn’t trade places with us in a heartbeat. There’s room for improvement, sure. But good grief some of our fans are spoiled. Including ones that I KNOW don’t do much to support the team besides posting here and tweeting nonsense.

“Essential Meaning of hyperboleHighlandsApp wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 5:20 pmI didn't say it was a failure. You are attempting to entirely twist everything about my statements because I called you out for being a jerk regarding Brice in a new post that you started.Seattleapp wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 5:07 pmYeah we should definitely go away from the “App State” brand. Your Ga Southern comparison is hyperbole. We went 10-3 this year. We lost to two good schools to end the season. They doesn’t mean the program is a failure and needs to be blown up and rebuilt.HighlandsApp wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 3:38 pmNewApp wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 3:21 pmHighlandsApp wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 3:19 pm
I was disappointed that we brought Mark Spier on as an analyst. We need youth on coaching and fresh ideas from different perspectives.
Who was first on your list instead of Mark Spier, Highland?
Someone who has coached under different systems.
There is a bunch of chatter on this board about playing AppState football and hiring AppState guys. That is is exactly how Georgia Southern got where they are today; by trying to keep doing the same old thing over and over. "AppState Football" is letting a young coach talk an old coach searching for answers to go visit Rich Rod at WV and learn an innovative new offense. Getting the "old gang back together" never works in anything especially not a game that changes with new innovations and wrinkles annually.
I did not intend to express anything other my desire to have diverse experiences. And I clearly didn't say anything about getting off brand other than the point out that the nostalgia that is repeatedly brought up here is something that began with being cutting edge.
ps - that is not correct use/definition of the word hyperbole
: language that describes something as better or worse than it really is”
Ugh. Way to double down on your incorrect smugness. Yea that is the way you use hyperbole. You are exaggerating our position by comparing it with the depths Southern has
sunk. You are speaking in exaggerated terms by drawing direct comparisons to make your point. Southern has had multiple losing seasons. We just finished with 10 wins. The two not even remotely comparable.
And you specifically mentioned getting a new coach to go inject something different from “App State football” as we know it because
We are doing the same thing over and over as you put it. Had we won today I bet you aren’t making that comment about needing new and diverse experiences. You’d be just fine with the boring nostalgia. Sometimes the other team does what they want to do better than we do what we want to do. It doesn’t mean what we do is a failure.
Perhaps I’m not the only one with knee jerk reactions. But I’ll own mine. I was frustrated with the way Brice started but he settled in and played a lot better. So he made a liar of me. So come on down off that high horse of yours and sit with the rest of us.

Re: Game week in Boca
That’s literally every team’s goal every year. But there are over 130 D1 FBS football teams and only about 30 of them win their conference and/or a NY6 bowl. It is statistically unlikely that a given team will EVER win at that level. You and people who think like you need to get a grip and reestablish yourselves in reality.trjinc@triad.rr.com wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 7:15 pmChampionships and New Years 6 Bowls should be the goal every year, not mediocre Division winners and 4 loss seasons.

It's crazy that so many fans here are OK with a mediocre season. I'm not saying we are a big pile of sh*t and everyone should be fired. But I do want to see promise and progression, and all I saw was regression. If some of you don't understand how big of a problem regression can be with a program, I can't help you. We aren't Alabama or Georgia, or Ohio State or Oklahoma where Kids are dying to come play for us. We have to produce on the field year in a year out and show promise, or we will progressively lose recruits and disappear from relevance. As has been noted, it doesn't happen all of a sudden, but over time. I'm not saying it's happening, but there are certainly some flags going up.

My bad JB. You’re right. That came off as if I was replying to you. I’m sorry. I meant to reply because I felt some relevance to your question about getting the wrong QB. What's so funny is I am very often been accused as being a negative Nellie or something like that and I do tend to comment on some negative aspects but overall I and many others on here love ASU with all our hearts and wouldn't trade App memories for a pot of gold...but Geez all this bitching and moaning and dissing our players and coaches without any guilt is astounding. Go App. Oh and here goes the playing the martyr crap. Never ever ever felt like I was a martyr..just point out the hyprocrisy. Now can't we all virtually shake hands and forget all this junk?
