Coach Moore, you will be greatly missed and never replaced!! I have been so blessed to be a part of the Appalachian family since 1995 when I came here as a graduate student and became a fast football fan! Over these years, I have has so much fun being a part of the dynasty you had already built and that you have just brought to greater and greater heights! I have been sad to watch some of the great coaches on your staff leave for other jobs, but so glad that you stayed at the helm! I wish you and your family all the best and I am sure you will continue to touch many lives! Thank you for all you have done for ASU Football and for Boone! Take care!

Re: Jerry Moore will not return
What a sad day. What a great man.
I feel bad for the players who will not get to finish their carrers with him and those in the future who will never know him. Coach is more than a great coach he is a great man. How lucky we have been to have him.
Thanks coach for what you have done for ASU but especially what you have done for my kids.

Re: Jerry Moore will not return
I agree thats the right thing to do. I was just stating what will happen. It happened with the Capel hire and it will happen here. I think we should go after the best person possible. However given the past I think Satterfield will be the name in a month.unknown wrote:listen to this manhapapp wrote:Actually, I don't think it is a foregone conclusion that it will be Satterfield. Re: Jerry Moore will not return
Its Satterfields job and we are going fbs. You think he came back just for fun?
Re: Jerry Moore will not return
Would be shocked if our next HC wasn't Scott Satterfield.
Thank you Coach Moore. You are a good and great man. Heck of a coach. Wish everyone could be a little like you, but will never happen.

Re: Jerry Moore will not return
This was not a retirement, Cobb wanted to go in a different direction last season and allowed Moore one more year. Read between the lines of the goasu article. Cobb made the announcement, retirement was not used in the opening paragraph.
I am thankful for Moore but the program has gone in a downward trend over the past few seasons,
A change is needed, now time to announce Dale Jones will no longer return.
Remember Moore was offered an admin job following the Maine debacle and turned it down, this was the compromise.
Best of luck in the future, Jerry. Thank you for all you did.
P.S. Guess who watched the game with Cobb in a suite yesterday....Mr. Shawn Elliot.

No one. But naming a HC and FBS leap in the same press conference seems like a good thing. Search may take a few weeks, but we need a HC on the recruiting trail for sure.sixtoes9134 wrote:me too, but who in their right mind would announce a move to FBS with an Interim HC.
