I don't buy the take that it hurts them more than it helps them to play App. Nationally, nobody remembers we beat South Carolina or UNC and they wouldn't remember if we beat NC State. It just opens up more opportunities for the fans of App to give NC State fans shit and that's it. More than likely, athletes are still going to chose to go to NC State over App for sports regardless anyway so why not just play. It's good for the state.kornegaylw wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 11:02 amFor a long time there was no upside to NCSU playing App...they weren't good enough to sacrifice a potential win in the hunt for bowl eligibility...also the optics of a loss when they weren't that great would not have been good for Doren.Howard Street Hooligan wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 9:30 amwhat a bunch of babies. They've been dodging app for almost 20 years. They're non-conference schedule has been a joke under Doren so it's not shocking they'd back out of this one. Thankfully, we're not the only program in the state that's going to get left behind. They won't get an invite to the P2.
Now that they've improved some and we aren't what we were in 2019 I think it's a safer game for them.
It's also what the fans for both schools want! For God's sake give the people what they want!
That’s what the contract stipulates but that would require the game to be cancelled which it is my understanding that it is not as of today.Captain Morgan wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 1:54 pmI read we got a 750k buyout, which is nice, but I haven't seen that confirmed
If this is true, I owe Doeren's mom an apology.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 3:33 pmThat’s what the contract stipulates but that would require the game to be cancelled which it is my understanding that it is not as of today.Captain Morgan wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 1:54 pmI read we got a 750k buyout, which is nice, but I haven't seen that confirmed
Wonder why? HmmmCaptain Morgan wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 4:43 pmmaybe it's just a reschedule? However, the ECU says the word is that State is going to cancel their game in 28.
Really?
Do we think they will go the G5 route? Looks like Miami & Purdue could work.Saint3333 wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2024 10:25 amSlim pickings for 2025:
Needs a 2025 home game:
Kent St.
WKU
FIU
FAU
Temple
Needs one home and one away:
Bowling Green
Liberty
All have either the second or fourth week open which align with us. My guess is we go on the road whatever game is picked up in 2025 as we have UNCC in BOA stadium, and Toledo and EKU in Boone.
I'd guess Kent St. or Bowling Green, weak OOC schedule if NCSU cancels.
