Programs aren't built or torn down that quickly, although it is easier for one to fall than to rise. Any prior regime has some vestments in a program for AT LEAST 2 years afterwards because of the personnel that has been brought in, the coaches that were in place or not retained (due to budgeting in APPs case), and the direction the program was heading prior to a change. A new coach needs at least a couple of years to bring in HIS players and have HIS coaches in place to operate HIS system.

We all know that SS has been the head man for only 7 games, although results are not what any of us thought, he has a huge uphill battle getting the program turned around from the direction it has been sliding for several seasons to being competitive weekly in uncharted territory on the 85 scholarship level.

2014 signings will be crucial and tell much about where we are headed.

My personal opinion is that next season will be a tough one again, with marked improvement in 2015 and beyond.

Fans tend to think their programs should all have fairytale endings. Give SS his due chance to get it right.

My gosh, what would we be saying if our Hall of Fame prior coach stood at 1-6 this week???

I don't think it's time to part ways with Satterfield. But, it's not ridiculous to wonder if he's the right guy.

A lot of people push the "wait until he gets his guys" angle, but good coaches rarely fall this far. Just look at our opponent this week. Monken took "Hatch Attack" players and got to the semifinals running the triple option in his first year.

Satterfield has guys who came here to play in his offense.
He does, but they aren't his guys. For whatever the REASONS, they aren't hitting on all cylinders.

BS. It doesn't matter, you probably would anyway.

The site wouldn't allow your post to be embedded with mine.

I usually read what all of you are saying and find it interesting the different opinions. Like everyone else I have one too. I don't pretend to know all of Scott's staff, but the one thin gI haven't seen or heard is the presence of an Elliot type coach on the sidelines. He was our motivator and wouldn't hesitate to get in your grill if you did something stupid (aka personal foul) or totally blew an assignment. Just my opinion, but having been raised with a military Dad (drill sargeant) I do know the impact of motivation and discipline . I agree SS should be given time, but diminshing crowds (probably the bandwagon fans that jumped on after the 2005-07 Championship years) won't help with recruiting going forward or additional funds for the Yosef Club.
