What does the phrase "Nut up" mean?
It's analogous with "man-up."

There could be more of this than one might expect. I am off the Friday after Thanksgiving, so i will probably head up a day early and be able to do more than normal for my tailgate. 8-)

I believe one thing some of you are overlooking (as I would if not for our little granddaughter) is that 3 November home conference games makes it very tough for those with infants/small children - Odds are it most likely will be a long cold day even without precip - that has and will continue to hamper Nov attendance ---

I have seriously never noticed a huge dropoff in attendance in the month of November. Just looking back at the last 3 years, I found this :
September games - 24,917 ; 26,415 ; 24,137 ; 27,619 ; 25,723 ; 29,145
November games - 30,622 ; 28,946 ; 23,312 ; 27,115
I just don't see the huge November dropoff IF we are playing competitively .

You are correct. It was sarcasm because playoffs was just one of the many excuses for not attending games. Now that we are FBS a whole new set of excuses is being presented. I am the last to tell anyone they need to go to games. Just tired of all the excuses.

Well I hope you are right on this ---

As much as some hate to hear this - I do believe some of the reason for late November attendance being good is WCU coming to town - I believe the last 3 have been 30K+, 30K+ and last year 27K+

Thanksgiving
Cold weather
Competition
Our record at the time
So many games in one month

Like I say If people don't want to go to games I really don't care. We just need to stop making excuses for every thing that happens. We just can't seem to be happy about anything. We are always looking at the down side.

bcoach - I totally agree with you on all counts. Let's try to be more positive. I am excited about the possibilities of this edition of App football. I am not delusional in thinking that we may surprise an opponent or two. Additionally, I think that the trend of overlooking teams or unpreparedness may be a thing of the past due to the coaching philosophy we now embrace (assistants as well). I, like everyone else was looking for my own building to jump off last year after we were 1-5 or whatever we were but I APPsoloutely think that we can get to 6-6 this season and build some foundation for years to come. I might be a bit overly optimistic but it beats the heck out of the gloomers and doomers.

Well bcoach we are always going to have those who feel they need to bitch - if there's nothing there they will find something --- I must say some of what has been stated, like by me, are only suggested reasons why the attendance does/did/might drop - You know I wouldn't be so negative since I am the one of rose-colored glasses living in Lollipop Guild Land ---

Also I really hope someone has been collecting (maybe Moose) all the statements by those who aren't going to be upset if we don't win but 8,6,4 games this season - can't wait to hear all that ---

Whoa now, I might cuss up a streak if we hit that 4 win plateau like last year.

The lopsided schedule and having too many home games in November are natural things that happened with the transition. My only complaint is the off-year Black Saturday opponent. That's something our administration chooses. That's our opportunity to essentially hand pick our newest rival. If GaSt, a commuter school with the worst FBS football team in America, is the annual BS game opposite Southern, that is a huge disappointment and an opportunity squandered.

Other than the possibility of that, this is by far the best schedule we've had since the 1970's.

I'd like to see us make stAte the other BS game alternating with GSU.

The real ASU Black Saturday game.....would seem to be a natural!

I think there is some natural "hatred" aligned already!

WEll I screwed that one up.....I read the schedule to say we had stAte here.

I think we need to keep it a conference foe....so how about Monroe!
