We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Some people complain about how critical our fan base is....those fans are nothing compared to the low testosterone, everything is perfect sect of our fan base.
The last few posts are gag worthy and pathetic. Are you men? Geesh.
Have some pride guys. Don't lower your standards for anybody. Have goals and 0 tolerance for failure. The best programs in sport don't have spineless excuse makers in their fan bases anymore....they don't refer to western Kentucky as a buzz saw.
Imagine when coach k arrived at duke....Duke.... could have said "well we are in the same state as UNC with half the resources. ..we should be happy to just exist".....no. he and everyone in their program required excellence. Be excellent, not low T excuse makers.

Re: Game week in Boca
I find it somewhat hilarious when someone gets on a message board to think they actually know someone else mental and emotional state of mind whether it be pride, expectations...or whatever idea about someone else. They get on a message board to you or your pride, expectations, etc. If I had to hazard to guess, most people on this board do not actually know many, if any, others on this board. I find it difficult to know know what someone else's pride or expectations, etc. unless I know them or have a direct conversation with them for background and context. This is a true laptop hero proclamation and reeks of an odor: ignorance

Re: Game week in Boca
Do you think that Coach cares what you or I think about our standards for his program? Unless you go to work training, studying playbooks and film, practice plays and compete on fall Saturdays for the Black & Gold, your “standards” are irrelevant. Winning is hard, and if you are unsettled that we only have the 5th best winning % in FBS over the last 7 seasons, that’s not having high standards, that is having exceedingly unrealistic expectations.AppSt12 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 4:14 amSome people complain about how critical our fan base is....those fans are nothing compared to the low testosterone, everything is perfect sect of our fan base.

Coaches will always preach “control what you can control.” Same applies to fans. Getting upset because a play didn’t work, or Brice missed a wide open man is reasonable, but damn man!, it happens. Get through your feelings and move on to the next play. Understanding that this isn’t life or death isn’t a low testosterone excuse. It’s called not being a whiny little bitch.

I would hope that he cares at least a little bit. "Shut up and make your donation," is not a recipe for success.

Re: Game week in Boca
Agree with you on the donation piece. But it works both ways. CSC was out and about town a couple of weeks ago on King St. Someone felt the need to lean out the window of their vehicle and give him a hearty “Let’s Go Brandon.” Really! That’s not cool. I’m sure that if you or anyone else stood toe to toe with Shawn, we wouldn’t be full of such pi$$ and vinegar. Coaches don’t read this crap and for good reason.
But, if you are one that isn’t happy with him as our coach, you have two ways to make your voice heard in a constructive way for DG to hear it. 1) don’t go to games, or 2) pony up the $3 million to get rid of him. I hear Urban Meyer is available. Revenue loss is the bottom line. If someone is unhappy, either withhold donations or stop supporting the team until you get your way.
Editorial comment: I’m not speaking to you. Just using the appropriate pronouns.

Agreed. There is a line that is often crossed by so-called fans. It's a symptom of the larger disease infecting college sports. Schools spend more and more money to try to keep up. Donors get asked to write bigger checks, and they then think they should have a larger say in what goes on. At the same time, the donors cannot be told to just shut up and make their donation. It's not a good model and I don't think it is sustainable for the long haul.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 8:46 amAgree with you on the donation piece. But it works both ways. Got it. Yeah that's unfortunate, we aren't immune to unreasonable and disrespectful fans. In fact our success has added to the problem.

Re: Game week in Boca
I wonder how extensive our average playbook really is. Unreasonable fans who are clueless must think we have 1,000 different plays that can be run with all kinds of variations. I’m sure that every good coordinator in the world believes that his game plan is gonna work. It’s got to be extremely difficult to call a play, line up (play clock ticking) and all of a sudden the defense changes, then a new play must be signaled in quickly, formations have to change along with the blocking scheme and hope that it works. The unreasonable fans obviously believe this process is easy and should always yield results. How many times do we run a simple zone read and the back rips off a huge gain or takes it to the house and guys say, well that was a dumb or boring play? NEVER! Only when we get stuffed for no gain or a loss do the “experts” chime in.

I'm a few days late but here to provide the UCF viewpoint.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 11:14 amI wonder if the nut jobs (I’m sure they exist) on the UCF, Boise State and BYU (lost bowl game to a CUSA team) are melting and butchering their players and coaches on social media. All of those teams “underperformed “ this year and none made it to the NY6.
Yes to all of what you said lol our nut jobs that somehow expect every season to be an undefeated, conference championship, NY6 season are melting down.
We have the sliding scale that goes from coach can do no wrong all the way down to FIRE EVERYONE!! Just gotta lie somewhere in the middle where reality is haha.
We definitely underperformed but injuries didn't help. What makes it easier for some (but not all) UCF fans take this season in stride is the combination of knowing this was a season with a true freshman QB and that at least for right now, we don't have to audition as hard because we're Big 12 bound soon.

Re: Game week in Boca
I got a bit upset Saturday when we ran our stretch play to the short side into a stacked defense for no gain (we had done it several times). Then on the next play we ran the bootleg out of that same play and hit Malik for a big gain. My dad had to remind me of what I often say, some plays are run to set up other plays. The average fan doesn't pay enough attention to play progression during a game to understand the plan. Yeah, our dudes, coaches included, make mistakes sometimes. In the end, it's college football. We are entertained, the sun sets, and the sun rises. Now, bring on the 'Heels!!! Next fall and tonight. Man, I would love to witness an upset in person in the Dean Dome tonight.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 9:49 amI wonder how extensive our average playbook really is. Where do we get one of these sliding scale thingies? We seem to have a toggle switch between “scorch the earth” and “everything is awesome”.citroknight wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 10:03 amI'm a few days late but here to provide the UCF viewpoint.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 11:14 amI wonder if the nut jobs (I’m sure they exist) on the UCF, Boise State and BYU (lost bowl game to a CUSA team) are melting and butchering their players and coaches on social media. Re: Game week in Boca
I think we have a small vocal minority of scorched earth fans, a small vocal minority of pie in the sky fans, and a much less vocal majority of reasonable fans who understand that performances need to be constantly evaluated and adjusted for.
Social platforms amplify the vocal sides much more so than in the past. Our AD has done a pretty darn good job so far, so I’ll trust him to be reasonable and do what is best for the program, the athletic department, and the university. (By reasonable I mean examine all the facts and make informed decisions)

I bet you could hardly keep it in your pants being such a big man with that post. Next time you want to call people low T and pathetic, why don't you quite them so you can have a big man conversation with them. That will really get your high big man testosterone going. Then you should meet them in person and really let them know how pathetic they are. So go ahead and quote all those posts you are referring to.AppSt12 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 4:14 amSome people complain about how critical our fan base is....those fans are nothing compared to the low testosterone, everything is perfect sect of our fan base.
