Re: Recruiting, 2013
No we are not. We need at least 2 if not 3 lineman on both sides of the ball each recruiting class. Look at the oline the last two years after missing out on olinemen in the 2008 and 2009 classes for evidence.

Re: Recruiting, 2013
While I'd take another OT, I think we need development more than anything on the OL. This isnt something thats going to be perfected overnight. They showed alot of promise early last year, losing Dufort, Jones, Barnard, Acey, and Privette before the season, was just tragic. Collmar, and Hunter I think may contribute this year, which gives us a bit of depth, and maybe keep some of the starters healthier longer.

Re: Recruiting, 2013
I wouldn't count on Hunter making much of an impact this season after being out of football a couple of years. Collmar should be in the mix to start and the staff thinks Tyson Fernandez may be the sleeper of the group. Almost no mention of Jones following the injury. Thought he had the chance to be the best out of that recruiting class.GlassOnion wrote:While I'd take another OT, I think we need development more than anything on the OL. We get the big kid Privette back too. I really hope he will be fine because he has Kilgore qualities.

We may be showing interest in RB David Gaydosz (5-11, 195) of Winfield, W.Va., per a Twitter post by him. Also getting interest from Akron, Bowling Green, Marshall and Eastern Kentucky.

Just saw where LB Dillion Painter (6' 1" 225) from Maiden High School in Maiden, NC is thinking about taking a preferred walk on at App per his Twitter. I'll keep a watch on it to see if anything comes out of it.

Re: Recruiting, 2013
I agree. I hope they know that we support them 110% and that's why we follow them so closely. These guys are the future, not only of App sports but of life in general. And I think their future is looking very good for many years to come.GlassOnion wrote:Leaders already leadin'firemoose wrote:Just as a FYI...I looks like Marcus Cox and Dante Jones are really working Deondre Singleton hard on twitter. Good players want other good players around them. Superior team building skills being shown by these two young men! Proud to have them in the Mountaineer Family!firemoose wrote:Just as a FYI...I looks like Marcus Cox and Dante Jones are really working Deondre Singleton hard on twitter. Go get em boys.

Re: Recruiting, 2013
I had a chance to ask a Secondary Coach for one of the Top FCS defenses what he thought about our commits so far. Here was he had to say on a few of them:
DB Anthony Covington: "Terrible backpedal, would not have rated him 3 stars... maybe not even two stars, maybe he works for App's scheme but I'm not impressed"
WR/DB Dante Jones: "He can play. I'd offer him a schollie"
LB George Vinson: "Plays on film like a game changer. Good size. Looks bigger than his measurables. Y'all look like a you have a good one here"
LB Kennan Gilchrist: "Good player, we were recruiting him until Appy showed interest, will probably need a redshirt though"
Just figured I would throw some tidbits at you guys. He said he could tell App stepped up their recruiting game this year. He also stated that once they find out App is recruiting a kid, then they pretty much drop out because they know they can't match our facilities.

Between Tysean Halloway and the transfer from Utah, RB is actually looking pretty good at this point.asutrnr81 wrote:We need a running back BAYD!

Wow I think they have a problem. They give up because of facilities? Maybe it's not the facilities but more their attitude. I sure wouldn't want to play for someone that gave up that easy.
